Let me know what you think, or if you find odd things. To be clear, I'm
not looking for feedback at the styling: I'm using the default styles of
docbook-xsltng, and I have done zero styling at this time.

I have applied styling to bring it more in line with the styling of the
single page documentation (though it is not 100% identical). I have also
made some changes which I think should address the font size as reported
by Norman.

I have not found an option to make the ToC permanent other than trying
to include some customised JavaScript, and I prefer not to do that.

I'll publish this for fblangref25, fblangref30, and fblangref40 (which I
think benefit the most from chunking). Generating this is still a bit
rough, and not integrated in the normal Gradle build, I hope to improve
that later.

Re: [Firebird-docs] Experimental chunked output

2021-09-29 Thread Norman Dunbar
I like it. The styling looks good to my eye. The quick TOC pop-up (pop-down) is
a nice touch.

It's readable on my phone in portrait and landscape mode which is nice. It's a
little tiny bit too big though and I have to adjust the size slightly. But
that's not a huge problem.

Cheers,
Norm.

Works for me, although I would rather have the ToC visible at all times.

I didn't find an option for that yet. You can use the checkbox next to
the search box to keep it open, but that only works when navigating
through that ToC. And it is overlapping the actual main content, so that
would need to be tweaked too if it is shown permanently. I will see if
that is fixable, however CSS styling, etc is not really my forte.

However, my primary intent for the chunked output is to - hopefully -
improve the search engine indexing, but at the same time, I don't want
to spend a lot of time perfecting it :)
