AW: [firebird-support] Firebird 64 Bit Superserver

2019-06-12 Thread 'Check_Mail' check_m...@satron.de [firebird-support]
Hallo Karol,

This dll contains many functions to calculate some results (working hour etc.)
and the week of year. Last I can get with the extract function, but I don’t
know if this is also the correct calculation (with ISO..).

Is it better to update to 64Bit or to install classic server?

Thanks.

Regards

Olaf

Hi

All 32 bit applications should work without problem on 64bit windows

>>UDFs, there are not designed for 64 Bit Firebird

This is bigger problem. I do not know what your udf functions are, but there
are now plenty of built in functions in FB3 version which can replace many old
udf

I could, but there's a left join to F on one col = col from join OR
other col in (subselect with where on other col from join), which I
don't really think could be improved. I decided to ignore the result of
the query. I can achieve what I need by other means.

Thanks anyway! To you too Dimitry, for confirming how to interpret the
plan, which I have generic use for. :-)

How many records are there in BUPD, are the other indexes in the plan
selective and can you show us the query? Just wondering if it can be
rewritten so that the query performs better (I assume the reason for you
asking about the plan being that you have a query that is too slow).

   You must have a "master script" instead of extracting metadata from live
database. Ask
the database author for it.

[firebird-support] Help interpret plan

2019-06-12 Thread Kjell Rilbe kjell.ri...@marknadsinformation.se [firebird-support]
I got this plan for a query:

PLAN SORT (
   JOIN (
     JOIN (
   JOIN (
     BUPD NATURAL,
     UPD INDEX ("IX_PK_Uppdatering"),
     SP INDEX ("IX_Uppgiftsspärr_TilläG2M")
   ),
   E INDEX ("IX_Epostadress_UppgiftLZH")
     ),
     F NATURAL
   )
)

Would this mean that the table F would be subject to a full natural scan
for each record of the preceding joins?

Or does it mean that F is scanned once during which each F record is
matched against the result set of the joins?

F is large (well, ~3 million records) and the join result set is small
(~1 records).

Mvh,
Kjell

   That's a wrong way of migration.
   Better set up bi-directional replication between old server and new one. In
this case
you can switch back in no time without data being lost.

  This database obviously used some new features of Firebird 3 in stored code.
It cannot
be downgraded by backup-restore. Use other ways.

HiI'm trying to restore a FB 3 database to 2.5Before fb3 backup,I copy from 2.5
gbak.exe to gbak2.exe into FB3 folderthen run
gbak2.exe -v -b "d:\db3.fdb" "d:\dbbk.gbk"  -user SYSDBA -pass "mypass"

backup is done with no erorrs
I can restore it again to fb3 with no error but when I restore it to Fb2.5 I
got this:
 Starting restore. Current time: 12:25:06 PM Invalid token.     invalid request
BLR at offset 27.     BLR syntax error: expected valid BLR code at offset 28,
encountered 210.     Exiting before completion due to errors.   Restore
completed. Current time: 12:25:08 PM. Elapsed time: 00:00:01

restore is done from IBExpert

   This database obviously used some new features of Firebird 3 in stored code.
It cannot
be downgraded by backup-restore. Use other ways.
