[firebird-support] no permission for read/select access to TABLE USERS

2012-07-22 Thread Vasilis ..

Greetings, i have a new database which i populated with the membership tables
and procedures using the 2.1 scripts.

After that i decided not to use SYSDBA (everything works) and added a user
and a role. I granted permissions then i saw that i couldn't run a procedure
and then i noticed that i couldn't even select from a table USERS.

I dropped the role and granted full access directly to the user.

I get:

Statement failed, SQLSTATE = 28000
no permission for read/select access to TABLE USERS

Any idea what's wrong?

Thank you

Who were you logged on as when you granted the permissions? I typically use
Database Workbench and know that I have a few times tried to grant access to
tables to other users when I'm (accidentally) logged on as a user without WITH
GRANT OPTION. I didn't get any exception, but of course, since the 'grantor'
didn't have any rights to grant anything, the 'grantee' didn't receive any
access rights.

-Thanx Set for the reply, i was loggend in as SYSDBA. I granted everything
with SYSDBA and then opened an isql command window connected as user and then
tried a select statement.

[firebird-support] Membership provider, hash passwords, login

2012-09-17 Thread Vasilis ..

Greets, anyone has come up with this problem: In a ASP.NET website i develop,
using the membership provider and having hashed passwords in the database the
user cannot login If i change the password storage to "clear" the login works
fine. Any idea how to solve this or is it a known bug? Thanks

Hi Vasilis

I had the same problem as you, nobody answered to this problem. Good

news , it's not a bug, just documentation issue.

I found that the algorithm used before .Net 4 was SHA1 and from .Net 4

is SHA256 .

The solution for your trouble is to specify in web.config for membership

to use :
