Or, just an idea/suggestion, is to pipe dirh in fzf or percol which give
you a nice interface to pick which directory you'd want to go.

The `cdh` command presents the same info (with duplicates removed) and lets
you select one by number or letter.

Entries in the list are numbered.
Is there a way to ask to cd to the directory of an entry by its number?
