Hello List,
I wanted to check in with all of you who are wondering how things are
going in Libby. BEAUTIFUL The weather is warm, t-shirt (yes, our
T-Shirts are being worn) weather. Ideal dry weather.

In the ring all the fjords looks very impressive. Gayle Ware did her
reining exhibition and Dusty loved showing his stuff. Woodie's fjord won
the weight pull. Pulling 1800 lbs. Whow Woodie's fjord digs his toes in and
used all his might. Toby had a good performance and his cheering section
spurred him on. :-)

And one of the exciting wins was for Beth Breyer, (Colorado) who won
first and second with two of her fjords in the Single Log Skid with a time
of 34.78 + 2. There was many whispers as to whether this beats Brian
Jensen's record Brain are you there???

All the List people have been meeting and now we have a few more faces to
put to names. Wish you were here???

Signing off from Montana's very stary skies,
Betsy Bauer

Hi List, from beautiful clear Utah.where we were rocking and rolling
with the most amazing thunderstorm and lighning show last night !

5 of the Fjords are here now, and Jeff is on route with the leased mare
and colt. They have been enjoying their new " freedom " in a huge pasture,
running and bucking for 2 days in a row.now have settled into a routene.
They will graze away from each other, then look up to see their buddys have
drifted over to another area, then BLAST with Arabian looking tails up,
snorting and huffing. This, of course sends the others into a fit of
playfullness, and they all end up racing around for another 20 min. All the
other horses in the surrounding area, hear and see this going on, and also
race about in a show of partnership.maybe by winter this place will
settle down !

Wanted to comment on the thread of non-Fjord related topics. This
list has always ( well MOST of the time ) been a nice source of information,
and a place of friendship, good natured joking, and personal storys.alot
about our horses, but sometimes relaying some private treasures..losing
family members, births, moose in the yard storys, trail rides, first driving
experiences, ect. It is about FJORD OWNERS experiences with life with our
Nordic beasts. It is not a highly structured topic- driven web site, listing
important information, only. I would not have been here, and dropped it like
I did several other lists if it were. Like Steve said.its a living chat,
around the coffee pot with friends having the same interest, and lifes
experiences with our familys, dogs, ducks, chickens and Fjords. Hope it
never changes. No appoligies needed at all.

 Hi Julia and Mike,

Thank you alot for your comments on Woodstock. Sorry that I didn't meet
you.
We were guest of Alan's sister in Norwich and didn't know how much we would
miss by not going to the dinner on saturday night. We sat with the Merrimans
during the show sat. and sun. and heard alot about the auction and admired
her table and wished we had been there!
Yes, the show moved slowly with just one horse in the "ring" in the
beginning and in the log pull event. But we certainly enjoyed meeting people
and seeing the horses!
  Thanks again, Lois Merrill

So now we have topic police? I loved the duck story. I would hate to miss
out on such because a newcomer didn't find what he wanted instantly. Please
don't let impatient and critical people stop you from sharing. And, of
course, the fjord stuff is best, but life is a banquet not a one-course meal.
