Re: fjordhorse-digest V2002 #86
This message is from: John & Martie Bolinski <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> I LOVE trail driving with Kilar! It is still pretty scary because I don't steer as well as I should, but Kilar really likes it as a 'day off' from regular, boring pasture work. He thinks he is hot stuff when we go out. And he is not spooky when I trail drive - sometimes he gives something a good look, but not like when we ride and he wants to spook (in place luckilly). Maybe I should ride with the driving bridle :-) Just kidding. Congratulations on your fun drive! I wish I had someone to ride with me while I drive so I could see how Kilar would handle it. I don't anticipate any problems because he has seen outriders when we've been to shows. They just have not been up close. There will be riders along on our first pleasure drive (hopefully) next week. Re: Rein Board Dimensions
This message is from: The Mercers <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Hi! Thank you for the info. I have never driven before and am just in the process of purchasing my first Fjord so need to practice, practice, practice. Everything I've read says to use a rein board for practice but there were no dimensions given. Happy Fjording! This message is from: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Caitlin, A quick message on feeding Fjords. They are ALL always seemingly hungry but over feeding them only does them harm. It is so hard to look into those big wanting eyes and say "no", but it is only for their own good and for their health. Our Trinity's Aesir is beyond an easy keeper. He gets ONE flake twice a day, tiny bit of grain with vitamins and he's still fat! I suggest you slowly but steadily cut that food down and learn to look away and know you are not alone...we're with you on trying to maintain these wonderful horses in a healthy manner. Jean Well, I wouldn't use it then, if I were you. Having no security advisor, I've been using it for several weeks now with no problems, and Norton doesn't seem to be in the least suspicious of it. -- Steve McIlree -- Pferd & Skipper -- Omaha, NE/Las Cruces, NM, USA People may talk of first love--but give me the flush, and triumph, and glorious sweat of a first ride. --George Borrow(1803-1881)
