Vilde update
This message is from: "Knutsen Fjord Farm" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> She's coming home tomorrow! She still will be on oral antibiotics and they have not found the responsible bacterium. Results on the Ehrlichiosis [you'll have to look it up yourself] test are still not in and everything else has been negative. We will keep her in semi-isolation for a while just to be on the safe side. I REALLY don't like mysteries like this! Bob [Professor] Envick, big closet Norwegian sweetie that he is, just called to check on Vilde's progress. I feel so supported! I guess I may have to stop referring to him as "the old fart", although I fear he might feel neglected if I did. Speaking of professors, Wednesday I am off to my 40th college reunion, where I expect all the men to look rather old and all the women to have had facelifts. I, of course, will feel much too young to be part of this group I think my self-image is stuck somewhere around age 37. Wish my body were, too. I'll return late Sunday. Bye for now - Peg Peg Knutsen - Ellensburg, WA http://www.elltel.net/kffjord/
Fall Fjord Fest in Carson City, NV!
This message is from: "Dagrun Aarsten" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> We are back from a weekend of great fun in Carson City, Nevada! Will wite more details later (unless someone else beats me to it) but just wanted to say thank you to everybody for a very well arranged show - in particular our birthday girl Karen McCarthy! Ribbons, prizes, special awards, course diagrams, maps to get everywhere, it was all there. I loved the fjord-decorated stall signs with all the horses' names, too. Friday night was a blast, although it ended way too early for me! Where are my barrels? Saturday's show was great, and although we could have had more entries the judge gave it all an aura of style and a "serious" show while still offering friendly and helpful comments. It was a great first show for beginners, while still offering challenges to more advanced riders/drivers. Gail Russell and husband Jim came without horses to have the energy to cook up an enormous BBQ Saturday night! Their homegrown tomatoes were unforgettable! Sunday was a beautiful day with a trail ride along the carson river followed by delicious lunch at the Silver Saddle ranch. I hope we are looking at a new yearly tradition, if Skandifest remains history. Hope all participants made it home safely, and thank you all for a weekend of great fun! Dagrun

Re: mare for sale
This message is from: [EMAIL PROTECTED] In a message dated 10/12/2003 10:00:11 PM Pacific Daylight Time, [EMAIL PROTECTED] writes: Brass Ring's Baar, who will replace his sire, Trygve, C-1389, who had brain surgery & is hanging out in Southern OR now. *snork* I think the surgery was a little further south of his brain. He's enjoying his "retirement" and makes a perfect "trailside babysitter" for my husband and anyone else who rides him.

mare for sale
This message is from: [EMAIL PROTECTED] This is from Joel Harman. C-1404, Stillmeadows Lovisa. Heavy boned brown dun, 2 colts on the ground, Brass Ring's Jord, infamous author of "Life on the Ground",(who says hi to all of you), & Brass Ring's Baar, who will replace his sire, Trygve, C-1389, who had brain surgery & is hanging out in Southern OR now. Anyway, back to Honey. She trains the colts for me but I run the gang together, including Baar, who still has his learning disability. This will get him in trouble with Honey this spring. So, Honey needs a new home. This is an excellent mare for those of you who are needing an experienced horse to teach you & your horses. She is an excellent mother & the best in the working string. She is open. Delivery is an option at $1/loaded mile. That's what it takes to run the pig truck & trailer. I want to thank all of you for not being interested in buying Jord or Baar when I was wanting to sell them, looks like they will be a well matched team. Your loss, my gain. They understand that I'm the human being, not the dope on the rope, & they are the horses. Jord will be in the plow hitch next spring. Baar will be busy being two yrs old, longing for big brother Jord who will be at work with the big boys.
