MF Leika/ Lucky's filly

2005-04-21 Thread Janne
This message is from: "Janne" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>

Just wanted to report that Lucky's orphan filly is doing very well, growing
and thriving. We named her MF Leika, which in old norwegian means play or
playful, - and that really describes her so far. She is stalled at night,
but frolicks out in the r. pen all day. Soon she will have to spend 24 hours
outdoors as I am leaving shortly for Norway. She is so far eating us out of
house and home, but with time I am hoping to change over to something more
"homemade". Anyone with any ideas, please email me privately.

Janne in sunny and early summer in ND.

Dear List-

We have one to add to the 'foal list'. This is our second Saethersblakken
baby, this time a brown filly we have named Sinisblakke after our dear friend
Sini Seppala-Vanhala who served as our interpreter in Finland when we purchased
Saethersblakken from Tarmo Puranen.

Little Sinisblakke was born at 4:15 this morning. She weighed 105lbs and is
45 inches tall, our biggest baby yet. Mother Sukkertoy and baby are both doing
beautifully. I was there for the birth and again got some great pictures.
You can see foaling pictures of our first Blakken baby, Tarmosblakken, by
visiting our website www.littlefarmfjords.com and going to the 'Babies' page.

Thanks, Dr. Steve White for coming out in the middle of the night. Your
friendship and expertise is always appreciated.

We have begun shipping semen for this season. We offer a money back
guarantee on shipped semen. You can review our contracts at
www.littlefarmfjords.com
or write me with any questions you might have regarding the shipped semen
process.

Jillian delivered a lovely baby girl last night. Exactly 11 months 11 days.
The vet had checked
her sunday and said she was no where near ready. No bag. We did our evening
exercise walk at 6 -

no bag and very frisky, no bag at midnight, dried off, active healthy kid at 6
am, still no bag.
Got extra colostrum into her just in case but she is born with the Fjord
appetite and milk is just

streaming now, no bag. The kid is big, close to 100 bs, perfectly shaped and
fuzzy and friendly.
Big hit at the vets. Looks brown but hard to tell ( brown eyelashes anyway ).
Glad shes a filly,
will keep her for breeding and using. Now just have to come up with a name.

Yes, congratulations from me as well. I have been at the same stable as
Nick for the past 4 years. He is an AWESOME horse! I just can't get over
how gentle he is! He was in the Fjord drill team with my horse and I (as
well as a mare) for the past for years as well.

I am sad to see Nick go, but I know he will be happy!

Big Congrats to Mike and Linda Nepereny of Iowa as they are now a first
time

Fjord stallion owner. Mike and Linda bought Rokida's Niklaus. He will be
going to Iowa around the end of May. He most likely will be on my farm for
the month of May, I can stand him for any interested mares the month of May,
after that you will have to contact the Nepereny's.

Nik is a VERY dark Gray stallion, by Valea's Lee and RoSandy's Vena. A real
gentle stallion and very well trained. Mike and Linda got a very nice boy.
A+ disposition I've seen Nik in a 6 horse hitch, lead horse with a mare
next to him and two behind him. He's been in Parades, demo's, used in
lessons, trained in huntseat and jumping and just always a quiet well
mannered

stallion.

Anyone like to see some photo's of him, just email me, I would be more than
happy to send them. Also any interested mare owners give me an email. :-)))

I'm real happy for both parties, Nik will finally beable to live outside,
breed mares and have the good life. The Nepereny's are getting a fine
stallion and an asset to the breeding pool.

I had to call Avid today to order chips for my puppies. I asked him about my
mare and he said if she was chipped it would be with a chip that has a fifteen
digit number. He said it is a different frequency than the scanner I have and
mine would not show anything. Is the scanner that the fjord registry lends
out one that reads a fifteen digit number?

No it isn't the Destron chips are 10 digit alpha numeric. They are
actually hex code numbers.

The Avid chips are 9 digits.

The ISO chips are the 15 digit ones.

We do have a reader for the ISO chips for horses imported from Europe but
unless your horse is an imported one it is doubtful that it would have an
ISO chip in it.

Well I just looked in the NFHR pedigree site and see there IS a "Steena"
registered to Nyla., a grey and full sister to Niklaus. wonder where
"Anvil's Stina" is?>>>

I am not sure. I heard that there were two "Steena/Stina's (at Nyla's
farm). Like like registry says, the Steena I know is grey.

What color is Anika? I can send you pics of Adel to compare..>>>

"Anika" is a brown dun. I took some pictures of her that I need to develop.
Once I do that I will post them. I can also take picutres of Steena for
those interested.
