Re: white Fjords
This message is from: [EMAIL PROTECTED] David, Your horses are beautiful! I'd like to see even more pictures of them. Did you raise/train them yourself? I looked over the site _www.drivingpairs.com_ (http://www.drivingpairs.com) and voted your horses as the most gorgeous - and those Borzoi horses are the most unusual equines I've ever seen! Charla (looking for my reading glasses so I can see those Borzoi's better.)
Re: whip it GOOD
This message is from: bushnell [EMAIL PROTECTED] This message is from: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Hi List ! Im getting quite a pause over this discussion about pushy Fjords. Im also getting the feeling that with all the alternative methods around to school this behavior I would put in my 2 cents. ( May not be worth even that. ) THAT WAS a good poem Lisa.. I enjoyed the humorous twist. Made me think of Rodney Dangerfield's quip.. I don't get no respect, ..but a bull whip just might do the job all right. =))) Ruthie, nw mt US

This message is from: bolinsj [EMAIL PROTECTED] Yah know, like you said, you gotta do what you gotta do. One day one of my Fjords was being such a pain in the backside that I was driven to desperation and got the whip. I went in the stall with him and beat the living crap out of the back wall of his stall. Got his attention for the rest of that week! What was left of the whip went into the trash., but now when I move to the back wall an make like I'm going to hit it, I still get his attention. (I'm sure he thinks he is just humoring the whacko). I don't think the whip sends the message I want to give. I want my horse to understand that I want him out of my space. I want him to learn to back off if he gets to forward. I don't want to carry a whip in one hand forever. I made some progress today for the first time I know Loki understands. This was worth taking the time to teach him what I mean. He got into my space today and I said CH. He looked at me and backed off. I was so pleased! I said to myself He gets it!. Of course then I left my wheel barrow to get another fork full of manure. Turned around for a second and his foot was in it. The wheel barrow tipped and I had to pick up the manure again. Oh well I am still making progress!
Re: white Fjords -- now Borzois
This message is from: Karen Keith [EMAIL PROTECTED] What a hoot! That's me driving those Borzois! I should have a sign that says my other driving critter is a Fjord! These dogs belong to my sister in Florida. She and her husband raise Borzois and are international dog show judges. You can see more of them at http://www.sylvanborzoi.com/driving/driving.html Oh, BTW, that cart comes from Norway! Cheers!
