We are getting ready for probably our largest event (yes, bigger than our
wedding ;-)), and everyone can read more about it here:

Sure to be a good time, we're just wondering where we will park all the

Next Fjord Herald Submission Deadline - May 1st

2009-04-14 Thread Starfire Farm

This message is from: Starfire Farm starfiref...@usa.net

Just a gentle reminder that the submission deadline for articles and
advertising for the Summer Fjord Herald is quickly approaching. Don't
know what everyone has been doing the last couple of monthsbut the
editor's InBox has been pretty quiet!

If you've been putting off writing an article for us -- now is the time
to put pen to paper (...does anyone do that anymore?) or more likely,
start that new Microsoft Word document. As always, include a bunch of
photos for us to pick from to accompany your piece. It should be
obivious to everyone that the only way we can produce a Herald that you
enjoy readingis if YOU send us stories, club activity coverage and
updates, instructional articles etc. to put in it!

And, we're always here to answer questions, so don't be shy.

Look forward to being flooded with your submissions,
Sandy

abetta saddles

2009-04-14 Thread schnabl

This message is from: schn...@primus.ca

I have tried many different saddles, one of them is an Abetta Endurance.
I ordered it with an Arabian tree, but found that it is still a bit tight
around the shoulders. It also has very little spine clearance.

Just recently I discovered a Company called Allegany Mountain Trail saddles.
I custom ordered my saddle there, the quality is exceptional, as is their
service. The saddle also finally fits my horse perfectly. The price was very
reasonable as well.
Check it out at www.trailridingsaddles.com

More Fjords in the news (East coast this time!)

2009-04-14 Thread KBatchelor
This message is from: kbatche...@aol.com

I hesitate to post this because my ponies have gotten so fat on spring
grass, and these pictures made me run for the grazing muzzles (does the camera
add 10 pounds or 100?!), but this was a nice local plug for a benefit event
that we are participating in called the Parade of Barns. Proceeds go to
the therapeutic riding program for traumatic brain injury that I have been
organizing...we do have a wonderful Fjord on care lease there and he has
made quite a splash. The Charlotte chapter of the Sons of Norway recently
adopted him and will be partially sponsoring his care.

If anyone is near Charlotte this weekend, come see us--hopefully, we will
create a few new Fjord fans!

What's spring grass look like?  we still have pockets of snow ...

Henry is desperately searching for green blades ... it's mostly still
snow-white, or muddy-brown.

Fantastic article - enjoyed reading it :-)

It's not as bad here as many colder places in the world, but after
the weird extreme winter we've had in Washington state this year,
Spring is really welcome. And it is definitely here: this morning
Buttermilk Biscuit and her non-Fjord pasture mates, Blossom pony and
Jynx wb 2 year old, actually left their lovely hay piles at breakfast
and munched on the grass. Tomorrow they'll start going out only for
part days. I think if I sit on the grass I might hear it grow!
Really a great sight: green grass getting taller by the day, even in
our over-grazed field! Can you spell H-A-P-P-Y H-O-R-S-E-S??!!
