Linda Sysverson-Kerr and driving accident

2010-06-15 Thread Kathy M. Johnson
This message is from: "Kathy M. Johnson"

as many of you have heard by now, Linda was in a driving accident last
Saturday, 6/12. We were attending a CDE clinic at Hickory Knoll Farm in
Fitchburg WI. Clinicians were John & Betsy Freiburger and Deb Bevins. The
morning was devoted to driven dressage and the afternoon to driving hazards.

As we were not going to drive Reidar in the hazard portion, Linda volunteered
to be the navigator for an Intermediate driver that is local to the Madison
area, Cathy Thomas. Linda was so excited to learn more about navigating as she
had plans to attend Bromont (CAN) the last weekend in June, navigating for
Andy Marcoux. After successfully driving the water hazard and the sunflowers,
Cathy and Linda came to the hazard called "Stormin' Norman"where I was one
of the timers. They had multiple successful runs, trying different
routes...and on the last run, which by the way, was the fastest for
them...experienced an accident with the carriage tipping over. They did not
hit anything (tree, gate, etc). It was an ACCIDENT with no specific reason to
place blame. Both Cathy and Linda were wearing their helmets and safety
vests! Most likely why both ladies will be able to tell their own story!
Cathy has a fractured pelvis and Linda sustained a concussion. Linda is still
in the ICU unit where they can monitor the pressure inside her head. She does
have her cell phone...so has been able to send messages to Facebook.

Cards and letters can reach Linda at University of Wisconsin Hospital, 600
Highland Ave., Madison, WI 53792 OR to her home in Holmen, WI. Email:
syversonsfjordl...@gmail.com

Please keep her in your thoughts and prayerswe want her back driving!!

FW: Blue Earth Correction - Farm Hitch Class

2010-06-15 Thread Dave and Patti Walter
This message is from: "Dave and Patti Walter"

We found an omission in our show bill that was sent out. OPPS, we are human.
We also wanted to clarify the adult trail class (weeding out the men from the
boys) and the camping for Blue Earth.

I’m hoping all the rain we are getting in the Midwest will be DONE and OVER
with by the time Blue Earth is around, otherwise, if it keeps up, we might
need to add a Fjord Water class/mud class, WAY too much rain lately.

Patti Jo Walter

President Midwest Fjord Horse Club

Blue Earth, July
19 – 21, 2010

** Show Bill Correction**

FARM HITCH CLASS OMITTED
An error was found in the Blue Earth Show bill. The FARM HITCH CLASS, Class
#30, was incorrectly omitted. The show packet available on the website has
been corrected.

The Farm Hitch class is scheduled on Monday afternoon, after Class #29, Team
Log Skid. A brief break/setup will occur prior to the Farm Hitch Class. The
entry form in the show package lists Class 30,so you may still utilize the
Entry Form on page 3 of the show package to sign up for the class.

We apologize for the mistake and the confusion it has caused.

ADULT TRAIL CLASS CLARIFICATION
The adult trail class pattern calls for a counter canter (meaning the horse is
asked to canter on the "wrong" lead for the turn the horse is making). The
counter canter is correct as shown; it is not an error.

CAMPING

Camping is available on the fairgrounds by selecting a gate pass (at no
charge) on your entry form.

MORE INFORMATION
If you have questions about the Blue Earth show, the classes, or other
information in the the show packet, please contact show co-chair Kathy
Blaszczyk at kblaszc...@yahoo.com or ( 262)
692-3521 .
