He absolutely knew he was on this earth to teach me the love of horses. He succeeded in his objective. I'm am heartbroken. Yep, he was a special horse. I would lay on my back underneath him and clip his belly. He would stand like a rock. I know Ranec would die to protect me, I mean it when he was afraid to die and leave me alone - not because he loved me, but because he thought he had to protect me. We spent the day together, I honestly knew around lunch time it was the end, we spent the afternoon walking and talking, but he wasn't sure I would be ok without him, so he fought hard. We talked with our vet about options, and watched him. I told our vet he was dying, she couldn't hardly believe it, but she knew he was. This message is from: Alice MacGillivray al...@4km.net You are so kind to share those moments of your life together so eloquently. Must admit I have tears in my eyes; that doesn't happen often. The Fjord community can be so powerful: a family where you may never meet most of your human and horse relations, but nonetheless with a bond. Grieve well. Re: Ranec 1988-2014
This message is from: Jean Ernest jern...@mosquitonet.com I have tears, I have been through this too, so sad! here is a poem that I love: Don't Cry for the Horses Don't cry for the horses that life has set free A million white horses forever to be. Don't cry for the horses now in God's hands. As they prance and they dance in a heavenly band. They were ours as a gift, but never to keep. As they close their eyes forever to sleep. Their spirits unbound. On silver wings they fly. A million white horses against the blue sky. Look up into heaven, you'll see them above. The horses we lost, the horses we loved. Manes and tails flowing they gallop through time. They were never yours, they were never mine. Don't cry for the horses. They'll be back someday. When our time is gone, they will show us the way. Do you hear that soft nicker? Close to your ear? Don't cry for the horses, love the ones that are here. by Brenda Riley-Seymore On Fri, Oct 3, 2014 at 6:44 AM, Lola Lahr lolal...@gmail.com wrote: This message is from: Lola Lahr lolal...@gmail.com I am so sorry!
