One I've been thrilled with from the day of his birth, second is thrilling me more each day, and the third is only a baby. However, he's very well bred, nice temperament, and a gorgeous mover! #1 - BDF QUASAR - 1 1/2 yr. old stallion - (Gjest x Holly - Solar daughter) Yearling stud colt. Quasar will be an excellent stalliion. I've known this from the beginning. He's impressive in every way - size, conformation, temperament. BLOODLINES: He's the product of the two highest rated, most proven stallions in North America, GJEST SOLAR.- It's important to know that both Gjest and Solar are old stallions - 23 years old. Old enough to have proven themselves as breeding stallions. Both were born in Norway and approved and proven there. Both Gjest and Solar were purchased by the Dutch Fjordhorse Studbook. Both stood in Holland for a number of years proving themselves through their offspring. --- Both stallions had sons chosen as Approved Studbook Stallions in Holland. Realizing that Holland has only 45 Approved Stallions for a total Fjord population of 14,000, then you know the calibre of horse we're talking about. CONFORMATION: Quasar is TALL, BIG BODIED, BIG BONED CORRECT! --- He moves 100% correctly. Travels straight! No deviation whatsoever. TEMPERAMENT: - Quasar has a beautiful temperament!!! He's been well handled, and is beautifully obedient and mannered. He's VERY EASY TO HANDLE. MOVEMENT: Absolutely correct movement. Suspenion Reach. * (Gjest x Holly-Solar) A PROVEN CROSS - BDF Quasar is a full brother to BDF John Arthur and BDF Magnum, both winners of the prestigious Versatility Award at Libby, stars in the Log Pulling Event, and Combined Driving winners. We will sell this very good young stallion only to a serious breeder. He is not cheap, but we will make a good deal for the right breeder. If we cannot find the right owner by November 1st, then Quasar will be gelded. We have long considered Quasar as a replacement for Gjest. However, Gjest is doing better than he has for years and is definitely not ready for replacement. Therefore, we've decided to stick to our original plan which was to retire ourselves from breeding when Gjest retired himself. Gjest is not ready yet, and so, we offer Quasar to another breeder. ~~ The following horse has been slower to develop than his brother, BDF Quasar. Although he's very well bred, beautiful, and a good mover, and comes from the cross that's produced some wonderful performance horses, I've not been entirely convinced he's got what it takes to be a breeding stallion. However, I'm often too critical of our horses, and this colt is maturing well. Therefore, we offer him for sale as a potential breeding stallion. BDF QUENTIN DURWARD - 1 1/2 yr. old stallion - (Gjest x Maryke - Hjerter-Knaeght daughter). This is another very good quality stud colt who is now just coming into his own. He's a full brother to BDF IDAR, the gelding in Los Angeles who's doing so well in dressage open competition. Also a full brother to BDF Miss Naveta, the elegant mare who's cleaning up in driving competition. Also full brother to the overall dressage winner at Woodstock, BDF Jubilee Canada. BLOODLINES; (Gjest x Maryke - Hjerter-Knaeght) A very interesting pedigree. The same bloodlines that produced FJELLWIN, the Gjest son chosen as an Approved Studbook Stallion in Holland. Gjest as sire, and Hjerter-Knaeght as maternal grandsire. CONFORMATION: TALL, big bodied, but not as big boned as Quasar. More elgant, a good mover. Very beautiful head and eyes. TEMPERAMENT: Superb temperament. Extremely easy going and mild mannered. MOVEMENT: Long, reaching stride. Very good mover. Quentin is available to a serious breeder only. If there is not a suitable breeder for these quality young stallions, they will be gelded. BOTH STALLIONS ARE WELL-BRED, WELL GROWN WELL HANDLED. Thank you for your consideration. If you are interested, please call or email for further information and videos. BDF RAN REINSTEIN - weanling stud colt (Gjest x Riena - Myrstein daughter) A very beautiful and correct stud colt of excellent pedigree. We imported Riena two years ago with eleven other fillies. We liked her so much, we kept her for our own. She's tall and an exceptional mover and superb driving horse. Her colt is VERY EASY TO HANDLE and a BEAUTIFUL MOVER! Excellent opportunity for breeder looking to breed athletic Fjords. Available only to serious breeder
