nice time at the Turlock auction, BUT
This message is from: "Paul Milton" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Hello all, I had a great time at the Turlock auction this past weekend, but brought home a problem. I now have two teams and need to sell a beautiful pair of 14.1 hand well going pair of Fjord Geldings. They are 6 years old and are out of the Unrau's great lines. They are in Reno Nevada. Private email replies please. Paul Milton mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]
Re: No subject was specified.
This message is from: Paul Milton <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Alison, I'll post it for everybody to see. To put in an email link type mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] now, if you type it like that I'll get a lot of mail. Try mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] make sure you avoid punctuation at the end like a period if it is at the end of a sentence. To insert a link to your page in text, type http:// before the url. like this- http://miltoncarriageworks.com On most mail or browsers, this will appear as a link. This is good information for all and I could not resist the temptation for the shameless plug. Paul, Carson City, NV USA
Re: Questions
This message is from: Paul Milton <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> In answer to two of you 1. The small Farmers Journal is a must read for anyone who wants to actually work their horses. Small Farmers Journal PO Box 1627 Sisters, Oregon 97759 It is a quarterly magazine and the rates are $24.00 us for one year, $44 for two and $62 for three years. The other question was about the Amish. Yes they do everything with horses. They own no motorized aparatus and have no electricity in their homes. OK a few might fudge a little and have air powered kitchen appliances, but most seem to adhere strictly to the rules. They farm with horses and go to town with them too. Re: Weather, sheath cleaning
This message is from: Paul Milton <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> OK Gail, I would have posted this with Marsha's reply, but I just read yours. Start with belly rubs and work your way back. Do it daily and you will get there. Paul
Re: Weather, sheath cleaning
This message is from: Paul Milton <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Marsha Jo, The answer to getting your Fjord to tolerate sheath cleaning is repetition, repetition, repetition. I have one who cannot drop, so he gets it often. Now, I just sit on the ground almost under him and he just stands there. Paul, Carson City, NV

Re: e-mail question
This message is from: Paul Milton <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> On the link question in the body of the message, here's another option. If you type it in, add the prefix mailto: or http:// in front of the address and it will make it appear as a link. Like this: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] or http://miltoncarriageworks.com If convienient to use copy and paste, it is nice, but sometimes you are typing along and this works too. Paul
Re: Do I have this right?
Hello, Actually Maybe it should start that way, but alas, no I don't have that kind of flair. try http://miltoncarriageworks.com > Dave McWethy wrote: > > After writing the last piece, I checked to see if Paul had a web page > with pictures of carriages already there. This was the first listing: > "One-armed Milton erupts through the door between carriages , knife > between his teeth like a buccaneer to kill Eveleen . Re: introductions, canter
Hi, I don't know about everyone, but I am one of those who consider it a safety measure to teach every driving horse to canter in harness. That way if he panics and runs it is not into strange country where the two of you have never been before. He will still be in your hands and his mind will be where it belongs when it is time to come down to the walk again. Sweet as they are, Fjords can panic too. Paul, Carson City, Nv
Re: who is who
Hello Fellow Fjord Lovers, My name is Paul Milton and I have a pair - Tomas and Raffiel. They like to walk through fences and eat and when I can find time seem to enjoy pulling my wagon. I am a carriage builder in Carson City, Nevada,USA. Fjords are catching on around here. There are 4 Fjord owners in town with a total of about 10 horses. I think the who is who is a good idea, but please keep it private. If it is accessed pubicly, we will end up on mailing lists and get too much unwanted email.
