You got me to try the Star Trek and I bought one. It fits the Fjord
great. I like the panel for the back. It is also very comfortable.

Hi Everyone,

Happy new year to all. I wanted to know if anyone has ever had Reiki
done on their horses and find out more about it. I had all three of my
horses worked on and they really seemed to enjoy it. I would love to
hear any thoughts or comments or experiences that you may have had
with it.

Well said. Thank you.

-Original Message-

I guess this needs to be restated. This has always been the rule on
advertising of everything on this list, but I will repeat here with
  emphasis added.

Advertising of items for sale on the list should be limited to
BRIEF SALES LISTS to be repeated no more often than ONCE A MONTH.
For example, if one has five horses for sale, they may post a
list of all five horses, containing their name, breeding, sex,
size, age, price and a BRIEF description of training or
suitability. If a prospective buyer wants more detail about a
specific horse they may contact the seller by private e-mail. The
same policy will hold for the advertising of harness, tack,
vehicles, feeds, books or any other goods appropriate for sale on
 the list.

As to the subject of horses being priced higher when offered on this
list than when advertised elsewhere; as you can see there hasn't
been any rule stated. That said, I believe if a case of double
pricing were to be documented and brought to my attention, I would
be inclined to ban the guilty party from further participation on
  the list.

Now for those who are tired of seeing horses for sale, please
remember you have a delete button as well as, I presume, a Fjord. It
may surprise you but many people join the list specifically to find
  their first Fjord.

Our Saethersblaken filly is absolutely wonderful. And working with
Janice getting semen delivered was a very good experience. She is
absolutely responsive and professional.
Look for Bryhyl Zephyr in the future. She is as wonderful and as
athletic as her parents.

I wish you well with Tyra. Be sure to follow starving horse guidelines
and start her eating again slowly; others here know much more than I do.
I have a Konggard daughter and she is the sweetest thing, so hopefully
yours will go back to being that too. I am sure she will name herself in
due time.
Speaking of buying horses far away, we bought our second Fjord
this summer in Canada near Niagara Falls. We saw photos, went up to see
her and tried her out, had the local vet look at her, and decided to go
back with the horse trailer. It is about a nine hour drive each way.
After dragging my husband all the way up to see her, there is a lot of
pressure. You really never know what you are getting till you get a horse
home and ride where you ride and put it in with your horses. On the way
up with the horse trailer empty, my husband had me drive most of the day,
his reasoning being, "so you won't buy a horse any further away, ever."
Probably workedHopefully I will have her forever, she is great.

least 8 hours away. This will be my first Fjord and I don't want to make a
mistake. The person who owns him sounds honest and very nice. She has
sent pictures that also are very nice. I am also wondering about the vet
and how to know what to ask if this is what I am really looking for. After
all it is a BIG investment.

Hi All

Gus is finally starting to shed, all of those nice long hairs...and they
never seem to stop coming out no matter HOW long I groom.!!!

ok, on to my curious question

I've always lucked out when I've bought my horses, that they have been near
me
and I was able to get to know them 'so to speak' and test ride before
buying.but I know that won't always be the case.

How do you all go about buying?

if it's far from you, do you ask for a video? then fly/drive to see them?
if not, and you purchase the horse, do you have a local vet examine them
where
they live or when they arrive?
How do you make sure that said horse is exactly what you're looking for?!

This kind of came up when the message about the underweight fjord, Tyra came
through and all of the problems she had before the horse even got to
her..

Hi TeressaI would love to come and see Merit perform on Sunday. We have
two fjords and have been going to Libby for some years with our gelding Per.
It's always been a great event for us. Do you know which class he will be
in
so that I can ask Sally what time I should be there. I know they start
early
in the morn and it runs all day. We only live about 8 miles from there and
our property borders the Pilchuck Tree Farm so we have a great place to ride
and drive in our neighborhood. You said he is from Stillmeadows and we know
Hallie from when she lived on Orcas Island and had the first Fjords that we
had ever seen. We were smitten and had to have that breed.Perhaps I'll
hear
from you before Sunday and see if I can't find a buyer. In our immediate
area
we have two breeders, Peggy Enge and Solvieg Watanade. Sounds like a great
guy,Krist and Jeanine Martinsen

My 7 year old gelding,Merit, is for sale. He has been trained in driving
by
Brian Jensen, singles and pairs. He has been in 5 day a week training for
dressage, hunter and jumper for over a year. His jumping form is very
correct. He is the darling of the training barn, affectionate and
loveable.
He was at his first "away" show in Libby last September as was I. We were
both very nervous but we placed third in the fab forties class. (I am an
over-50 beginning rider and horse person so I'm not really cantering yet.)

He is brown dun, 14.1 hh, and is CFHR registered. He placed in the
ribbons
in large classes in the October Classic Hunter/Jumper Show in Monroe, WA.
last October and wasn't affected by "away" show nerves there. A 16 yo
from
my barn rode him in several large classes.

I somehow ended up with 4 fjords - don't ask me how. And as beginning
rider/drivers, my husband and I really need to just have one horse each to
work with. But, as all fjord owners know, the emotional connections are
strong and it is hard to make the decision to sell.

If someone wants to see him in person in Western Washington, Merit will be
jumping at a schooling school at Collinswood Farm on Sunday, February 6
(this weekend). It is at the Stanwood Equestrian Center, 28119 Old
Pacific
Highway, Stanwood, WA. He is still in a full training schedule at Fox Bay
Farm in Ferndale, Washington and can also be seen there.

If anyone would like to see photos of Merit, please email me and I will
send
some. I am asking $6,000 for him.

My name is Phoebe Drury and I am from Milford De.I am just starting to look
for a driving horse with mileage, not green broken.Age preference is no
younger
then 4yrs to anything still able to walk and pull a pleasure cart.I am also
looking at other breeds but would prefer a Fjord.Bloodlines are not an issue
as long as they are sane.I've got 40+ yrs working with horses an ponies and
21yrs with them on the property,16 yrs with Pony Club. What I am looking for
needs to be very affordable as I have 4 college and school tuitions to keep
up
with. This horse would be for me,I figure it's moms turn to finally have a
little fun with the rest of the over 50's riding and driving group here.So
I am
looking for something within 2-300 miles of here.

If anyone knows of anything please drop me a note.

 Thank you,
