Hi Folks!
Starting to drizzle here, but we do need it! Just resurrected (sp?)
one fjord mane that was flopped over! OK , Anne S., you are allowed to
come visit Sean now!!

We have owned a featherlite gooseneck that was 20 years old when we
bought it and now have a bigger 4-Star gooseneck. When you want to shine
them up to look brand new , talk to a truckdriver (big rig) and they
will direct you to an Acid cleaner that the big rig boys use to keep
their fuel tanks and any aluminum shiney clean. There are truck stops
that give acid baths (I know it sounds nuclear!) or you can buy the
cleaner and rub it on and rub it off. Takes a long time with a 32'
trailer :-( !!

Hey Gayle! Congratulations on giving up the house work! I used to
have to dust and vacuum everyday BA (before Anthony)! Learned real
quickly that I'd rather spend time with him and the horses before doing
housework. Now I can survive with maybe a thorough cleaning not quite as
often!

Thought I would let you all know that Yonda and Adrianne from
Bloomington, IN who won the raffle foal at Equitana Usa came to NH
yesterday! What great people and we took pictures and videos. I have
gotten them to agree to write up their story and get it into the
Herald for all to see. They had come to Equitana for the last 4 years
just to see the Fjords and Morgans. This was the first time they bought
tickets for a raffle. The Morgans weren't at Equitana this year so they
just concentrated on watching the Fjords! They finished building a new
house and have the foundation poured for their new barn and by the end
of October, Viktor will be off to his new home! They were able to trade
an old S10 pickup for an old 28 year Palamino mare, who lived next door
to them at their old house.so Viktor will not be alone and down the
road they will be looking for another Fjord! You are right , Mike,
Fjords are like potato chips, Betcha can't just have one!! Our raffles
have had such a great outcome with the great people that won the foals!
We just kicked off our next raffle for the NFHA which will be drawn at
our next Fjord Show in August of 2000! Only 1000 tickets to be sold @
$10 each. Win the foal or $2000 Cash. We also have printed on the
tickets that We will review the winner for placement of the foal and if
so decided, a cash prize will be awarded. This has been really good to
have this in place, for being able to do the right thing for these
special little foals! So far, it has been a wonderful experience for us
and the winners!! Sue G.

I'm starting to realize that this is the way to go, if I want to buy a new
trailer... Thanks for the advice! Now I just have to find the extra money
to go ALL aluminium! It'll cost me an extra $2000+ to do this! AAAGH!

I recently bought an all aluminum Featherlite 2-horse slant load. What
convinced me to spend the extra $$$ on a trailer
like this was seeing a friend's 14 year old Featherlite. Even today it
looks as good as the day it came out of the
factory. Having done the rust battle, paint jobs every couple of years, and
 worried about the rusting undercarriage
jeopardizing the safety of my precious cargo, I was convinced that all
aluminum was the way to go. I call it peace of
 mind insurance.
