Barnum and Bailey

The Ringling Brothers(Barnum and Bailey) Circus bought another Fjord to
perform in the act. Francis Creek Fjords sold them Tindemann yesterday.
Owned by Catherine and Rune Lassesen of Oregon. I found the circus 4 Fjords
a number of years ago, probably 5-7 yrs ago. The circus had an unfortunate
accident with a train about a year later and lost 2 of the Fjords. They had
picked up one more out west as they were in CA and they heard of a local
fjord for sale. That brought them up to 3, and they like even numbers so
luckily Dr. William Lindsay contacted me again and I had Tindemann
available. He came out did a vet check on him and bought him.

I will be bringing Tindemann to Grand Rapids MI mid Sept as the circus will
be performing there. This way I get to see the other Fjords perform! I'm
very excited about it. Tindemann will be having quite the adventure as first
he will be taking a car ferry ride across Lake Michigan than driving to
Grand Rapids. We will deliver Tindemann, then get to watch the show, get to
go back stage and see the elephants, zebras, other horses, stay overnight
and come back home on the car ferry. All compliments of the circus.

The Fjords are no longer doing the act with the elephants. I believe he said
they did perform for about 2 yrs. The trainer did a fantastic job
accomplishing this feat. The vet was always a little nervous about it, as
the elephants made threatening moves to the Fjords a lot. They never did do
anything but the looks of wanting to were present. Good Fjords for putting
up with those BIG elephants! Elephants can toss a man 40 ft with their
trunk, sure they could have done some damage to a Fjord as well.

The Fjords do a liberty act with 2 other breeds of horses now. Once I go I
can let you all know what they all do.

As I reported last time I got to go to the circus, as a guest. The animals
are VERY well taken care of. In fact I was thinking about it the last couple
of weeks since Dr. Lindsay contacted me. The circus is in TX and he was
saying how hot it was there, but he said the good thing all the animals are
in AIR CONDITIONED tents! Ok, all my horses just got jealous, they live
outside WITH BUGS, and LOTS of them this year. But seriously these animals
are VERY well cared for. They get exercised daily, they all are in perfect
weight and condition. No vises, no weaving, cribbing, etc and I have been to
PLENTY of big barns where I've seen many horses with lots of vises. Maybe
years ago having animals in the circus meant a bad life, but now a day's not
so. Tindemann and all the other Fjords and all the animals in the Circus
have it made!

Also Congrats to Chris Price of MA, looks like she will be owning Bregan.
SUPER cool horse. Bred by The Sorum's in OH, love to get some more of their
stock in, if they are all as wonderful as Bregan!

Does anyone know or remember the names of the horses sold to the circus? I
had the pleasure of seeing them this past Saturday night and they looked
marvelous. They worked with the elephants and were all business. One of
them jumped the gun and struck a pose before the other three horses.

Hello Everyone:

Glen and I would like to announce that the Fjord/cross filly, one of The
Threesome that were rescued in December due to the efforts of Lynda and UEF,
will be
coming home to us in Crown Point, NY, next week.

Glen and I wanted to adopt one and when we looked at the pictures, she was the
one who captured our hearts. We made application and were approved. We have
named her Bailey to honor Lynda.

We operate a Therapeutic Horseback Riding, Driving and Grooming Center for
individuals from preschool to adult with developmental disabilities and when
Bailey has settled in, she will be joining Shooting Star, Sundag (aka Sunny),
Morning Star and the rest of our special horses who work with our Clients.
