Re: Thank You Secret Santa Amy Evers
This message is from: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [EMAIL PROTECTED] Amy, Thanks so much for the wonderful gifts. Last week I was looking at a website with those cute little rubber fjords made into ornaments and was lamenting that I hadn't gotten one for the tree, especially since I have an Icelandic horse ornament and I didn't want Tyra to feel left out. My tree's still up so I hung it right in the front. Tyra will really appreciate the professional Fiskar mane scissors (I won't mention what I've been using). I've been giving her clicker training lessons to hold her head still for trimming, so she should be good to go! Maybe now Tyra won't be embarrassed if I send in photos of her! Bud Evers Service
This message is from: Catherine lassesen [EMAIL PROTECTED] Hello Everyone, I just returned from Redmond, OR where I attended Bud Evers' service. The whole family was very grateful for all the notes, cards, flowers and love that you shared with them during this rough time in their lives. It is wonderful to be part of a Fjord network that has as much passion for the horses as it does for all the people involved with them. On Wednesday, November 17, 2004, at 4 PM, the service was held at the farm of Lynne Christie Miller (Small Farmers Journal), in Sisters, OR. Amy drove the family's team of Fjord mares with a 4 wheeled marathon vehicle in the hay fields that Bud spent many days horse haying with Lynne Miller in the summer time. The sun was setting as the two sons (Bud Jr. and John) and the two daughters (Sharon Amy) along with Tillie rode in the vehicle to spread his ashes over the fields that he lovingly worked in the summer. Bud's grandson, John read a poem that he wrote for his grandfather and Sharon (his eldest daughter) read a beautiful tribute to him that she wrote on her long drive from Wisconsin to the family home. A large cow bell from Germany was rung during the service. This bell was found in a real farm supply shop in Germany and was made in Germany. It was not a tourist bell but the real thing. Bud had always wanted one and this bell was going to be a holiday present from Bud Jr. to Bud Sr.. Unfortunately, Bud Sr. never had the chance to see or hear it. If as in the movie, every time a bell rings there is a new Angel. then several were given this status during Bud's service and I am sure that Bud was one of them. The sun took its last look over the mountains as the service came to a close and the family and friends gathered in the Miller's farm house for hot coffee and OREOS. Oreos were Bud's favorite cookie. We all toasted to the fond memories of such a great man with an Oreo. Bud was a first generation American on one side of his family and a second generation American on the other. He had always wanted to be an American Cowboy. He was not only a true horseman but a true gentleman. Those of us that met him even once or knew him well all of our lives knew this of Bud. As his daughter Sharon said, Bud may not have had much in way of money but he was a very rich man. He was true to his passions (horses family) and true to himself. He was full of love and life to the very end. Wow was his last words. It makes you wonder if he was exclaiming the entrance of his new life in Heaven. or explaining his old life on Earth. Either way, Bud was a man of few words, but when this gentleman did speak it was worth listening to. Hugs to all, Catherine Lassesen
Re: Bud Evers
This message is from: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Amy, I am truly sorry for your loss. The few times I saw your dad and you at Libby, I could tell right away where you get your gentleness and love for the horses. The two of you made a great team also. I am so glad he was playing with the horses until he died. May his memories help you thru this sad time. God Bless you and your family Michele Noonan Stevensville, Mt

This message is from: [EMAIL PROTECTED] How sad to hear of the passing of Bud Evers. It seems like yesterday when we got to visit around the evening fire at the Libby, MT. show with Bud and Amy. Our condolances to the Evers family, and I know that somewhere is a good workhorse team with a new hand on the lines, and long straight rows.. This message is from: oe Wilson [EMAIL PROTECTED] What a tragedy. OE and I will miss Bud. We've only been in his company 4 or 5 times, but what an impression. He has been a great influence in our dealing with our own Fjords. We have a wagon that he built and we will always be proud to own something that he did his awesome craft on. Amy and Tillie, we will mourn along with you his passing, but know what a great friend he was to us. We love you both and wish you the best. Pat and OE Wilson -

This message is from: saskia schoofs [EMAIL PROTECTED] OH Its so good to see Saskia is with us again. Thank you! I remember writing under a picture of Sage The Evers' Sweet Sage, but I am convinced he couldn't be something else than sweet, as he was born in such a nice family! Thanks for your friendship, I am very happy with it! To everybody on the list: a very happy and merry X-Mas and may all your wishes and dreams come true in 2000 and may every day bring you joy. And a lot of pleasant surprizes too! from stormy Belgium, where the snow has changed to mud, Saskia
Re: To the Evers
This message is from: Ingvild Nygaard [EMAIL PROTECTED] Saskia answered your questions very good, but she didn't know the word karing. This word should have an o over the a, and be pronounced kaaring. And the meaning is a stallion who is qualified for breeding. As easy as that. Your 22 year old mare Ellinor is listed in the Norwegian Studbook for 1994, and under owner it only says USA. She has a great line, with Felder, Lidaren and Oyarblakken. I think you made a very good investment. -- Ingvild Nygaard http://home.sol.no/~snygaard/ The Fjordhorse page http://home.sol.no/~snygaard/fjord.html
