Does anyone know what's happening with the archives? They have been
inaccessible for the last few days.

I think we need to be more patient with new members re questions we older
members have heard many times. There is the Archives, but also newer members
can also provide answers. If we refer every new member to the archives we
soon would have no one asking questions on the list.

I also find, not being an expert at this computer life, it is difficult to
use the technology at times. Patience.Jean G.

The NFHR has a video available for $25 that covers all of the grooming
including the trimming of the mane. It does not address fitting a saddle
though. If you would like to order one you can download an order form from
the NFHR web site

www.nfhr.com

The order form is in the Documents & Forms section of the site.

If you can't download the form for any reason call me at 585-872-4114 & I
will let you how to order it.

Sher... I should have included the link for the Fjord List archives! Go to
www.escribe.com/pets/fjordhorse

And the user word is Fjordhorse, and the password is Fjords_rulethen
do an archives search for saddles.

"...I don't have any ...advice for you, sorry...it occurs to me that the
Fjord world
really needs an online FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS page..."

That would be really nice! But, I have not heard of one on the net - it
could very well be out there, I just haven't seen anyone mention it.

"...Then there are the archives you can check into, but many don't seem to do
this...maybe ...a refresher...as per instructions for tapping into them..."

That would also be very nice. I really don't know *how* to use archives - so
for a new fjord owner trying to learn, that is very intimidating, trying to
figure out how to dig out the proverbial needle in the haystack. :-)For
someone who knows how, am sure it seems simple - but for someone who does not
know how, it is very daunting.

This is the only Fjord list that I know of -- so, thought that here was the
place I could ask questions that are particular to Fjords. If I'm supposed to
go somewhere else to ask Fjord questions - please someone do direct me!:-)

It is very important to me to have a saddle that fits Loki correctly - and I
recall having heard so many times that Fjords (like Haflingers) can not use
standard semi quarter horse or sometimes even full quarter horse trees (in
western). I want to be sure I'm not harming him, of course!

Then the time will come around that I need to learn how to maintain his mane
cropped in the Fjord style. So, will need to ask that question, too.

Can anyone explain to me how to learn this sort of thing, if I should not be
asking it here on the Fjord list? Wasn't there a video put out for new
owners, that covered things like Fjord saddle fitting, mane trimming, etc?
