Hello,

This wreck has been a large topic on a couple of the transportation lists.  
It was a double decker headed to Kentucky with 52 horses on board.  21 died due 
to the accident, either immediately or in the case of 12, euthanized.

There is an investigation going, apparently, as it has been speculated the 
trailer was overweight plus the driver reputedly did not have a log book in the 
cabin.

Apparently most were treated and continued on another trailer to their
destination.

HORSES KILLED IN TRAILER ACCIDENT 
A livestock trailer 
traveling from Minnesota to Kentucky and carrying 52 horses overturned, 
tumbled down an embankment, and crashed into a utility pole, breaking it 
in half on Wed., Sept., 15. A small fire ignited from the fallen wires, 
according to the police report. At least 21 horses are dead
