Dear List from Brian Jensen;
Hope everyone has now arrived home safe and sound.
I especially want to thank Sherrie Dayton for her work on holding an
Evaluation this year at Libby. As well Kudos to her crew and helpers. Neil
Sorum ---NFHR President and Ruth Sorum travelled to Libby and were right in
there lending a hand as well--Thankyou. Phillip Odden---Co-Chairperson of
the NFHR Evaluation Comm.-- and Else Bigton also lent their assistance to
making the two days run smoothly. I believe from feedback of entrants the
Evaluation was a huge success and learning curve for NFHR members.
The Libby Show ran by Shirley Anderson and her Show Comm.
was the best Ursula and I had ever taken part in. In the past 18 years we
have attended some 60 Open Breed, and Breed Shows. Lbby is right up there
with the best of them. Of course there is always little glitches here and
there at any Show. In the Show Program there was a balance of fun
classes---Novice Classes---Riding/Driving Draft Performance classes. The
classes moved right along, and the Judge worked efficiently and
consistently.
The Libby Show Ground changes and improvements are great,
and if a new covered Grandstand happens as proposed it will continue to be a
wonderful venue for many years to come.
From my prospective there has been a tremendous
improvement in quality of Show------quality of Performance--and quality of
Fjords presented. Thankyou to all the entrants who are interested in raising
the standard of how we show our Fjords.
As it has already been announced I do not believe I am
speaking out of turn to say that Flotren has been sold to Don Torgenrud of
St Ignatius --Montana. Congratulations and thanks Don and Heather for
brining this wonderful stallion to a home in the West.
