Hello All,
I will be off line for a while. I do appreciate all the comments and support
you have been sending our way. I need to tend to some personal business and
will get back on line as soon as I can... If you all have questions or
comments for the Oregon Fjord Club... Amy Evers is on line and she will be
glad to comment and reply.

Greetings from 3 " rain and mud and dirty horses in ND.

I will be off line for a while as I am going to Norway and the pc needs
service as well.

Just in case anyone is trying to get a hold of us.

Still have a nice drafty 14 year old gelding for sale, great harness horse!

Welcome back Linda!

I just wanted to point out for the cm-challenged, that one inch = 2.54 cm,
so one hand = 10.16 cm. Therefore Ricka at 145 cm is actually 14.1 hh and
Rei Romanow at 140 cm is 13.3 hh. These are pretty standard heights for
Fjords in North America, and what I've seen in Norway, so I don't think they
are breeding them smaller in Germany.

Grüßen aus Lindenfels in der Odenwald! I moved to a ground floor apt (it
qualifies for here even though there are 8 steps from the ground to my
door) in Lindenfels on 1 March and the phone line didn't work.  It took 3
weeks and 2 phone calls to get Deutsche Telekom to come out, fix the
phone and install the computer equipment, then I had to get Patrick, my
friends' computer-knowlegeable 18 year old son, to come over and actually
hook up the computer and get me back on-line.  It was the first time I
have felt a little isolated over here since my German, although much
better, is still poor and my primary contact with English-speakers is via
the internet.  I have some great friends here in Barbara and Sigi; I
trust them with anything I have, including my life, but, together they
speak about 50 words of English (obviously, since we visit alot, this is
why my German is getting better).   I didn't get to go to Equitana, the
big horse fair,  Before the move due to my recurrent medical problems, I
was not able to work with Ricka and since the move, I have done nothing
except try to get this apt straightened up.  This is a problem because
it's 20 qm smaller than the other one and things aren't fitting in all
that well.  I can only do so much and then I have to quit which further
complicates matters.  Herr Wolbert found a teenager to ride Ricka and
teach her western cues, so she is ready to ride when I can get time and
am able.  I just don't know when that will be.  I may be facing
arthroscopic surgery on at least one knee after I see the orthopedic
surgeon next week, which is just what I need with all of my other chronic
problems.  If I can find time, I can always ride bareback so I don't have
to put my feet in the stirrups.  Ricka's only 145 cm (about 13h ) so
she's a good size for me.  I think the Fjords are smaller over here.  The
current national champion, Rei Romanow (by Rei Halsnaes), is only 140 cm,
gorgeous, but small. My thoughts and prayers are with all the coalition
troops and their families.  Having spent a few years in the Navy, I know
how important it is to feel that people are supporting us in what we are
ordered to do.
