I totally agree with Mary on the recommendation of these two books.  (And NOT 
just because I work for Lynn!)  Especially helpful to the beginning driver is 
Training Workhorses / Training Teamsters.  This book covers every aspect of 
basic driving training for both the horse and the human!  It's written in 
plain language; you don't need a Ph.D. to understand it and has tons of 
photos and drawings to illustrate the instruction.  You can order them

I do have to agree with Candy's comments on Lynn.  I've had the pleasure of 
working for Lynn for almost 4 years now, and have learned so much from him.  
He really does have a "way" with horses that's wonderful to watch.  And 
what's really great is to see how his own horses respond to him; it's nothing 
short of beautiful!  There is definitely a strong relationship of mutual 
trust!
