Hi Fred,
I did look at your mare going through the cones course at Happs. [ The
scores have been up for a few days now]
She is a good looking mare, good movement.. What an improvement from
Libby. Looks like a little work might have paid off. The harness looks
adjusted correctly. The only thing that I see, and this was several times,
the head going up, and her back then inverting. This is caused by asking for
a turn when she is on the wrong hind foot. [ like dancing with your wife,
and you step on her foot] Since she is such a forgiving mare, she just
jerks, and says, " oh well'. Some, horse would bolt, or start bucking,
and kicking. Again, I would suggest 2 books, only 20 dollars, [6 skinny
mochas cost about 20 dollars] "Horses don't Lie" and " Riding the Dark
Horse" by Chris Irwin, [Amazon.com] He explains what happens when you ask
for a turn on the wrong foot.
Will you be going to Lincoln Creek? It is another great place, good people,
good horses.
Take care,
Jerry Friz,
Anderson, CA.
