I have a good friend who has a Gotland mare. She is one of the  nicest little 
driving ponies I know of, a real speed demon, very maneuverable,  steady, and 
enthusiastic. I've seen her take a tight corner so fast the cart  tipped and 
spilled my friend out, and immediately stop and wait for her to get  back in, 
then be off again as if nothing happened. 
 
This same friend also had a couple of others in for training and  all were 
very nice. They kind of remind of Icelandics in looks... but much  smaller and 
not gaited. I'd definitely think of owning one if all I  wanted to do was drive.
