My fjord mare broke into a couple steps of canter and we did the whole field, I hated to slow her down (although she was ready for it!). We'll call it training that we cantered as much as we did. The truth is that it was smooooooth, relaxing and exhilarating all at the same time. Her trot is pretty nice too. My gelding (her grandson) also has very, very smooth gaits that are "ground-eating". ...Gwenn
