Thanks, Jean - nope, I've been on the list for a couple of years. :-) But
I don't drive in the traditional since ... that is, the Hampshire sheep that
I taught to drive a mini cart was very amateurish (hardly professional!) but
Petunia & I had a heck of a good time! (big grin) Same with a mini ox,
Daisy Mae, that I raised. But I've never done traditional "correct" driving
with my ponies -- just doping around, having fun, in the pasture sort of
stuff. So I don't think that counts - that's a big reason why I don't know
the correct harness terms or do-dads (no one ever taught me the "right" way,
I've just been having some fun with my critters.)

I am saving my shuckles up to get my own Fjord someday. In the meantime, am
having a good time making Fjord-ie cartoons on things. :-)I hope this
summer to get my first Fjord. I'm a trail rider, have a Standardbred horse
that my family enjoys on the trails. That's what I want my future fjord to
do - trail ride.

Thanks for explaining "horse brass" to me.

Sher

To clear up a point. I have a large collection of horse bridle rosettes and
when I said that the horse brass might be a new rosette that came from a
recent problem.. Maybe not so recent as the Koreans copied one of our better
rosette maker's product very poorly.

There is a fellow who sells under the name of Slatesigns and he produces new
rosettes which are now going as "vintage" by other sellers. He also "ages"
them but normally tells that. One of the patterns is of a fjord and altho
the glass is poor on my pair I think he is now doing them better. If you
contact him directly he sells them about $6 a pair incl shipment. If you
buy them on Ebay they are $18 up.

He is causing confusion re age of the rosettes for beginners. Jean

I read the description, and couldn't figure out what the heck this item is
used for. I'm geussing it's decorative on the tack some where?

Yes they are decoration only. Here is a page I found that pretty much
tells you everything (and probably more) that you ever wanted to know about
Horse Brass.

Sher this is a new rosette that goes on the bridle by the ear of the horse.
If they did not use the wrong word, "horse brass" then it is an ornament
that goes on the harness of driving horses. The Fjord is a wonderful little
horse good for all occasions and is from Norway, in case you are new to the
list.. Jean
