Anyway, as to the 'pinched hooves', this comes from very knowledgeable people, that, when the hoof is raised, it becomes smaller. Then, when put down, it spreads out, so, when a shoe is nailed on, the hoof is up (smaller) and when it is put down with the shoe on, it spreads and walla, a pinched hoof. Believe it or not.
