This message is from: REENA GIOLA The barn where I have Gus had cows that were slaughtered for their meat two years in a row. I agree with Patty, they weren't very social and only came up around the fencing when it was feeding timesthe 2nd year there was one that was more interested in us (as people) and would come over to visit. It was sad when they were hauled off and you knew what was going to happen to them. Kind of hard explaining it to a 6 year old when it happened though! This message is from: quilter...@aol.com At my house, we decided to do several meat free dinners a week - thereby reducing the total amount of meat consumed by us and we refuse to eat anything from a leading chicken restaurant as they came out as buying chickens raised and handled worse than most places. Every little bit helps. The difference between eating cows and horses? We rented our pasture to a guy who ran cows on it for years. They did not get or want human attention. They were not pets. This message is from: Emily Wigley Subject: Emily...need a float tube ? This message is from: pedfjo...@aol.com is it your island that is flooding and homes are being evacuated ? Yikes ! Hope you are high and dry today...Lisa Thank you, Lisa, no we're quite high and dry (except for the rains and more rains). No danger of flooding on our island (12 miles long, good elevation, surrounded by Puget Sound with reasonable tides). We'll only flood when Mt. Rainier decides to blow, but probably not at my farm - we're up a ways, and no mudslides either, fortunately. :-) Emily Emily Wigley Fish Bowl Farm Vashon Island, Washington (206) 463-5473 http://www.fishbowlfarm.com http://biscuitsfarmblog.blogspot.com/ ewig...@mindspring.com Important FjordHorse List Links: Subscription Management: http://tinyurl.com/5msa7e FH-L Archives: http://tinyurl.com/rcepw Classified Ads: http://tinyurl.com/5b5g2f
