I do not get the fjord nor do I belong to the NFHR. That is another story not germane to this topic. I have had fjords since 1988. I have bred & raised them since 1990. During that time I have seen fads come & go. Making them taller seems to take up lots of folk's time. Working on putting more slope in that upright shoulder is another. Breeding for color? It is unfortunate that some are going to follow the money & breed whatever is selling at the time. Hopefully folks will see that this is a poll - not gospel. While on the subject of what is good for the breed it really bothers me to hear folks say they are born broke. NO equine is born broke. All need training, hopefully by someone that knows what they are doing. Granted, often it is the human that needs training. Thank you for listening.
