Ringling Brothers Circus

For those in the Midwest the Fjords that perform in the Ringling Brothers
Circus will be performing in IL Nov. 3-27th. They will be in Rosemount IL
Nov. 3-13th and then in Chicago Nov. 16-27th. They are with the RED TOUR.
There are several different shows but the Fjords are in the RED TOUR.

The Vet from the circus contacted me that Tinman (Tindeman bred by Catherine
and Rue Lassessen )the latest Fjord that I sold them will be in the act and
thought I'd like to see him. My family is hoping to go to Rosemont on the
6th of Nov to see him and the other Fjords. At Rosemont they have an open
house where the animals are out for all to see. They have paddocks set up
where the horses get to run around, plus all the animals in the circus are
out, you can get up closer to them-not touch them, but closer. They also
have more information about the animals as to educate people about wild
animals such as the elephants, tigers, etc. More like a Zoo setting. The
circus does do a wonderful job taking care of their animals. It's a
different life but we all have different lives and these animals are very
well cared for and very loved. The horses get groomed daily, their stalls
are NEVER dirty, they have a vet on hand 24 hrs. a day, and many would not
think it, but they get ridden by many of the performers for pleasure. So,
it's not just sit in a stall, learn the act and then perform. These animals
HAVE to be happy or they would not do their jobs. I'll get pictures and post
them.

They also will be in OHIO before this time and IN after, you can check out
the dates and times on the website, www.ringling.com

Hi Patti Jo:

They were actually in Louisville this year with the Circus but I
had no idea they were in the Circus so I did not go. My trainer sent me a
picture as she had taken her niece. Sorry I missed it!

I had no intentions of upsetting anyone, but I thought that it was an
interesting article written by a Pulitzer Prize winning journalist, Deborah
Nelson.
I learned many things about the elephant - that they mature at about the same
rate as a human.

I have been to the circus BEHIND the curtain so to speak and I personally
can tell you they are WELL Taken care of. Have you been there? Seen for
yourself? Talked with the crew? ANY SITUATION, ANY HOME can be put in a bad
light. I can say with certainty these animals are WELL CARED FOR. I've seen
it several times and I know some of the people. No book will change my
mind,
as I have firsthand knowledge and again they do have a different life but
it
is a good life. If you don't like the circus don't go, but I would be
careful to talk bad about things you don't know about first hand.
