Hi Everybody from Carol Rivoire at Beaver Dam Farm in Nova Scotia -

We're having a tremendous summer with good horses being extraordinarily
good with our beginner driving students. These horses never cease to amaze
me. Week after week, they have totally inexperienced drivers to take care
of, and they do it without ever giving anyone any problems.

This year we're spending the first morning teaching the students how to
handle the reins in a manner that's kind and sympathetic to the horse's
mouths. We felt a little guilty about depriving them of that actual time
driving, but this program is having really positive results. Our new
drivers are leaving here as better reinsman than in previous years. --
One of our guests had a good 'old saying' for me today. She said an old
horseman said to her years ago, "If you behave as if you have all the time
in the world, your training will go much faster." Something like that anyway.

I have a really good mare to tell you about - One of our consignment horses.

ANYA, 11 yr. old mare of imported Norwegian stock. Both sire and dam are
excellent horses imported from Norway. Anya is a truly beautiful,
supremely typey Fjord mare. She's tall, big-bodied, gorgeous gorgeous
gorgeous head, good legs, good temperament. She's being trained under
saddle by some very good riders. She's not as yet trained to drive, but
we're using her for our guests for riding lessons and trailrides.

Anya is one of the most beautiful mares I've ever seen. She has correct
conformatiion. Her movement is correct, but not outstanding.

Anya has had one good foal, and in my considered opinion would be a
wonderful cross with Gjest to produce an excellent foal. The foal would
have size, bone, beautiful head, and hopefully - have Gjest's stellar
movement.

For her quality, Anya is reasonably priced at $9,000. Breeding to Gjest
can be arranged.

This is a beautiful mare of top breeding that would be a source of pride to
any Fjord lover.

If interested, please contact me soon as the breeding season is winding
down. Gjest is one of the most famous Fjord stallions in the world. His
credentials are the best. He is now 24 years old, and we don't know how
long he'll remain fertile. This could be his last breeding season.

I tell you very frankly, that as a breeder, I believe that Anya bred to
Gjest will produce a prize foal.

Regards, Carol Rivoire
