Re: West Nile questions
This message is from: "Karen Keith" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Dear List: I am in Colorado, and just this week saw a news item on West Nile virus. It said a dead crow was found with the virus in Lincoln, Nebraska, the closest it had been found so far to Denver (just under 500 miles according to MapQuest). Time to get the vax from the vet. Re: West Nile questions
This message is from: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Mark, Haven't you talked to your vet about West Nile? I had thought all the Great Lake states had been alerted to vaccinate this year? We vaccinated a few months ago. The torment and costs of a horse with West Nile would be overwhelming plus from our understanding, usually results in the death of the horse. Need to know some answers. Looked at internet. In humans it seems like it can be fairly common in infected areas with a small chance of death. Usually fever with some other symptoms. What are symptoms in horses and does the disease always end in death among horses, if not is it treatable and how is it treated? Just trying to learn.
