driving attire

Being new to driving and to Fjords, I find this discussion on
driving show attire interesting. I went to the driving class day at
Woodstock, VT this year (what a gorgeous place!) and I was impressed with
all the driving turnouts, aprons, gloves, hats, very clean trimmed
horses, as you are recommending. I have only been to 2 other open driving
shows and 2 sleigh rallys, but thought the turnout at Woodstock this year
was comparable to what I saw at the open shows.
One question I do have, it has been drilled into me to wear a
helmet while driving. Does this safety concern go out the window when you
show?

Hi Lisa Pederson-

Thanks for the pics of you driving -- awesome! I really enjoyed them. Just
one complaint ... shrink the pics next time before you upload them! They were
about a bezillion Kbs and actually larger than my 17 monitor. 5 or 6 is
more like it : )

For you other drivers ... what is appropriate driving attire? I will be
entering for the first time in Turlock as a maiden (does that mean I should
wear a white dress, hee hee) and have no idea what to wear. I dislike fancy
clothes and would like to be as casual as is permitted. My cart is a small
wooden sulky, nice but not fancy like Lisa's four-wheeler in the pictures. It
will be a single hitch.

Ideas?
