Robin,
My husband and I own Pines Edge Erick; a year younger than PE Ivan (I
think). When we looked at Fjords, we considered Ivan, but then chose
Erick. We love him! He is so quiet it's sometimes hard to tell what's
going on in that head of his. So much different than the Thoroughbreds
and Arabs I'm used to. I also have a mustang that is very curious,
relaxed, and full of fun. They play together constantly. FUN, FUN, FUN

My husband just bought a Tex-Tan Flex Tree. It fits Duffers perfect. We ride
in SMX Air Ride Pads, we feel these are the best pad for any horse.

I ride in a Crates, trail/equitation saddle. We really wanted another Crates
but it would take months to get it made. So therefore bought the Tex-Tan.

Does anyone have a Western brand saddle that they would recommend
for a very broad-backed Fjord with no wither?

The Circle Y flex tree saddle is excellent on these horses. There are a
number of styles. The one I like best is designed for western gaited horses
and
is cut back in the shoulder giving lots of room. Go on line on the Circle Y
site to see the many different saddle that they have available. Sharon Abbott

I have a Hereford and a Circle Y that work very well and I like the build of
them. They are also comfortable for me as well.
