Congrats to Laurie and Oz. I made that leap this year also to show
in an Intro class at two shows after not showing any since I was a
kid - it is a huge step. You and Oz look great together. I think we
have different goals than Anky ;-) and we should always assess
ourselves against our own realistic goals. It wasn't too long ago,
if I remember correctly, that you were ready to sell him - you guys
have come a long way in enjoying life together.

ok, it was a small schooling show at our barn. but the judge said we were a
well matched pair, and we got 2nd place in Intro A. Intro B, well,
let's say we

got through it OK LOL..

i can make the excuse that he had been used for a lesson horse earlier in the
day and was tired. he has a LOT of hair, and was pretty warm for october

laurie, and oz, who knows that anky's horses are in no danger of being
replaced

Well

You both looked marvelous
There was no unhappy pony tail swishing
There was no irritable bucking and subsequent falling off
And you remembered an entire dressage pattern.

By all measures of the Kate and Joe Dressage School you were a smashing
success!!

ozzie does dressagie

2007-10-29 Thread CrystalZak

i entered our first schooling show in dressage yesterday at our barn,
something oz has done before, but i haven't. i was pretty nervous before the
show,
and a little unnverved by everyone trying to practice in the same place,
however, once we got in the ring, i just thought of it as another lesson and
felt
better. we did Intro A, which was pretty much a lost cause. our circles had
corners, and at one point the judge marked our sheet as a little sluggish.
(he
was being generous LOL). in others words, oz was his relaxed old self.

for intro B, i got out a whip. most times i don't even need to use it, but if
he knows it's there he's a lot more responsive to commands, and our scores
reflected our improvement. he can move out if asked, which he did, though we
still lost some curve on our circles, but did get some 7s. so i was pleased and
we enjoyed ourselves.

it gave us a chance to see where we need to improve and things to work on
over the winter.

laurie, and oz, who entered at A, laughing LOL
