[Flashcoders] OT: seeking freelancers...possibly

2010-07-13 Thread Mendelsohn, Michael
Hi list...

I've been asked to gather up some freelancer contacts if the need arises within
my department, for Flash work. I have a number of projects on the horizon and
I'm not sure if I'll be able to build all of them on time. If anyone out there
is interested, please point me to some of your work. I'd prefer someone around
the Boston / Providence area.

michael dot mendelsohn at fmglobal dot com

thanks!
- Michael M.

With the old as I would do:

How do I do it now?

Same thing, but you need to cast root to the type of the main timeline,
that is the document class.

[Flashcoders] FITC Excuses

2010-07-13 Thread Ktu
Hey list,

I'm trying to convince the C levels why they should drop 3k on sending two
of us to FITC. Currently, they are 'on the fence.' They need convincing that
this event offers more than what we can get locally.

So, who's going? Why? How did you convince your superiors? What are you
looking forward to and why?

I'm personally excited about the Android content, the talk on the evolution
of flash on devices, resource management, mobile performance, and the Flex
intro for Flash Purists

Check on the Adobe Max page for convincing your boss. I'm sure there's
some stuff in there you can steal:

Consider yourself blessed to be working somewhere where you can worry
about convincing the C Levels of the value of a Flash *Conference*.
Alot of us are spending a ridiculous amount of time trying to convince
them of the continuing value of *Flash*, period. ;)

Re: [Flashcoders] TweenMax EndArrayPlugin();

2010-07-13 Thread Ryan P
Ok,

Still suck on this.. So everything loads in, but I cant see it?? I know it
is there cause I am getting Button Hand when the content is loaded in..
Here is the tricky part, when I hit anything that loads any external
content, the nav starts to work perfectly??

 Nice Steven!

I went back to 3.1.5, been trying to figure this dang thing out pretty much
all day. I had to make a quick text edit for http://www.babyblueswh.com/so I
updated the text in nav.fla everything looked ok. Then i tried to test
it, and nothing loaded, or it loaded but I could not see anything. I could
see that everything was loading cause I used charles and it all loaded
correctly. I have some external links in my main nav or links that load in
external stuff. When this happens the all the menu nav btns start working. I
can't figure out what I am doing wrong..

 Thanks,

 Ryan

As mentioned in the release notes awhile back, the new version of Gaia
uses the new Greensock v11 platform, which is different than the previous

project without taking the time to manually change all your references to
the old Tween functions and delete the old gs package.

There's no way to do this automatically for you. You will have to do this
yourself. If you're not comfortable doing it, then you should probably keep
 that project at 3.1.5.
