Well, I unfortunately I can't recommend a good alternatative, but I will
say steer clear of Flash_Actionscript and FLASHmacromedia groups on
Yahoo - it's filled with very very low level newbies or people who only
do animation. So unless you like constantly replying to (or resisting
replying to) people who pull crap like:
on(release){
_root.gotoAndPlay(37)
_global.Animation34 = "is true"
_global.Animation35 = "is false"
03MovieClip._x = 125;
}
, and then ignore you when you tell them better practices, then avoid
those lists. Flashnewbies has actually grown to a more intermediate
list and has some more advanced questions here and there. Someone on
Yahoo FLASHmacromedia, when responde to a post about what actionscript
was used for, actually replied, "don't worry about it, you only need to
use Actionscript when connecting to databases or creating web site
navigation". I replied with a ??? please elaborate, that's complete BS,
but never got a response.
The Flexcoders list on Yahoo is really really good though, if it's pure
Actionscript 3, then you can ask on there.
