RE: [Flashcoders] Flash 10 - using basic RTL features without CS4
The standard TextField has no support for RTL text out of the box. But in the past some clever devs had gone through a lot of trouble to make it somehow possible, e.g: http://www.red-id.com/blog/category/RTL-Flash.aspx If you the linked solution (or another one you may come across) works (100%?) for RTL (+BIDI) please let us know. - Benny ___ Flashcoders mailing list Flashcoders@chattyfig.figleaf.com http://chattyfig.figleaf.com/mailman/listinfo/flashcoders

Hi, That looks like a nice solution - I will try it with the Arabic and let you know... Previously we had been using FlarabySWF which flipped the order of the characters - writing backwards I guess - the resulting string was pasted into our XML files :) Cheers Glen Benny wrote: The standard TextField has no support for RTL text out of the box. [Flashcoders] Flash 10 - using basic RTL features without CS4
Hi, Quick question. If I am publishing with CS3, but running swfs in FP10, can I take get RTL rendering in standard text fields without using CS4 and / or the Text Layout Framework - i.e. does putting Arabic text into a dynamic text field just work, or do I have to fiddle? Thanks Glen ___ Flashcoders mailing list Flashcoders@chattyfig.figleaf.com http://chattyfig.figleaf.com/mailman/listinfo/flashcoders
