Re: [Flashcoders] Not getting my own posts

2005-10-21 Thread Charles Parcell
See... I should have looked at my filters before writing that last post. I
had it the exact opposite.

Set your filters to ONLY check the TO field of the e-mail. If you have it
check the TO field _and_ the Subject, then it doesn't apply the label
because your Sent e-mail does not yet have the "[Flashcoders]" text append
to it yet. This is because the filters work as an AND operator rather than
an OR.

There :)

Re: [Flashcoders] Not getting my own posts

2005-10-21 Thread Charles Parcell
I some how fixed this a few months back. I THINK that the issue is this. You
are actually recieving your own post but since there is already a copy of it
in the Sent folder, it gets skipped. In addition, the way you have your
filters might be causing it to skip your own post. If you are setting a
label based on the address the e-mail has as its TO field then it is
skipping. Try setting your filter to set labels based on the Subject such as
"[Flashcoders]".

Again, this is my poor memory on the subject. I might be WAY off. But I do
remember having to fiddle with my filters.

Really?

I've been trying for months to find out how to stop GMail from showing me
doubles of every message I send to a list.

*goes off to look at GMail settings again*

GMail users do not (by default, at least) receive emails from
themselves.

You may be able to configure this, but I'm not sure (I don't use GMail).
