Re: [flexcoders] F2B2 : Eclipse : Changing the "Documents" location

2006-06-30 Thread Derek Vadneau
The issue is still there in Flex 2 official release.

That really sucks. Not a deal-breaker, obviously, but a pain for every
project you create.

I realize Flex 2 came out only 2 days ago, but can you say if there
will possibly be an update to Flex 2 at some point? Is there a plan
for updates or will it be on a need-only basis?

2006-04-07 Thread Matt Chotin
I think it depends what kind of development you want to do. Flex only,
use the standalone. If you want to use Java I'd go for the plugin since
you'll then get the standard Eclipse UI which all the Java developers
will be familiar with.

But I just saw a thread internally that sounds like we are looking at
allowing you to change the location of the folder and have it stick. So
stay tuned for B3 to test that out.

Matt,

Based on this and on our conversation 4 days ago
("Developing/Compiling Java in Flexbuilder 2"), will you guys be
recomending using the Eclipse plugin over the standalone install in
the future?

Thanks,
Claudia

Unfortunately the bug that we have filed for that was deferred. If you
use the Eclipse plugin instead of the standalone install you don't run
into this (not much comfort I know).

Subject: [flexcoders] F2B2 : Eclipse : Changing the "Documents" location

I've got My Documents on the root of my C (far more convenient) -
windows and all my applications see the My Documents directory as being
mapped to mapped to the root of C - but I'm probably not the only
person who's had difficulty nailing down exactly how to get Eclipse to
point there by default instead of off in the default location. When I
set the document directory location in preferences, it forgets it.

Is it an easy fix?
