Re: [flexcoders] Re: Max OS X Flex Builder 2.01 License Issue - still waiting
Hi, Transferring licenses doesn't seem to be the only issue. We've been using a trial Mac version which just expired and I put through the order for a Mac license online last night thinking we'd have a valid key within a few minutes (like we did for the PC version last summer)... Not quite... it immediately showed as pending last night, and remained that way this morning. So after 30 minutes on hold with customer support this morning, I'm told that the more "expensive" transactions are processed manually and that somebody would be reviewing the details within the next 2-3 days. WTF? Since when is a $499 FlexBuilder license expensive, and even so, why do they need to process manually? Really really not happy this morning... especially because it's pretty much impossible to find a "temporary" key for the Mac version (I didn't just say that though)... It's too bad that the fantastic relationship we have with the Adobe engineers can't spread over to the CS department a bit... Re: [flexcoders] Re: Max OS X Flex Builder 2.01 License Issue - still waiting
I have successfully transferred my license from PC to Mac, though I, too, experienced all but the mis-routing of my faxed letter of destruction, and with even longer hold times. As frustrating as this was (massively), I love Macromedia/Adobe too, especially given how quickly they actually got the Mac version, plus some great upgrades, done. Too, effective product marketing often lags actual releases, plus we're all greedy early adopters here The alternative I'm sure was to not let us have it until their PM and CS teams were all totally up to date. I'm glad I had it earlier than that, though shortening the lag between product complete and release processes complete would be great, as it would for any company. My only real criticism is of Adobe's CS line hold times. The call that finally got through took 55 minutes before I got a human and with no reassuring wait time count down. I had already given up on 3 - 4 calls after 20+ minutes on hold. That system needs some urgent help, please =) cheers, ethan > Has anyone been able to get an new license? > > I contacted adobe and opened a ticket back on the 9th of January > and I am still waiting... > > After 50 minutes on hold, they took my information and then put me > on hold for another > 30 minutes. Has anyone been able to get an new license? I contacted adobe and opened a ticket back on the 9th of January and I am still waiting... After 50 minutes on hold, they took my information and then put me on hold for another 30 minutes. They finally came back on the phone and asked me to fax in a letter of destruction for my Windows version, which I did. They said that they would email the new Mac key within 48 hours. Waited until the 18th and still no key. Another call to Adobe (30 minute hold time) and they told me that my original request was missrouted and that I should have the key by the end of the week, worst case by Tuesday (today). Still no key... I am a HUGE fan of Macromedia/Adobe/Flex but I am not sure why it has to be this difficult. Thank goodness for the 30 day trials... -bill --- In flexcoders@yahoogroups.com, "Rich Tretola" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > > Same here, I was hoping that we were beyond the dual license issues and > could have a single that installs on 2 machines but different OS's.
