Have fun, One thing I think Tom is forgetting is that those tabs are arranged by index. This also means that you have to accept that the order they appear is the order of z index also. The only way is to maintain a proxy array and completely re implement the layout part of the tab bar. This means ditching the box layout and doing it yourself.
