Re: [Flexradio] N4J active on Saturday with FLEX 3000
Should be fun, Dudley. I don't think we will have internet access, unfortunately, so no way to post anything here, but I may be able to get somebody else to do it. I expect sort of a sporadic operation, as this won't be a hot new location for a lot of folks, but an interesting one. Just got the 3000 reloaded with the latest firmware to run 2.08, and flDigi is running great, so we may try some PSK. I think the operation will be primarily voice, probably with a 40 meter start and then moving over to 20. Hope the bands cooperate. geep On Oct 6, 2010, at 8:16 PM, Dudley Hurry wrote: > Geep, > > Sounds like a fun day.. We currently have 3 pages: 1. Software packages and links you will probably want to install on your SDR computer 2. Quick Start guide to installing Ham Radio Deluxe 3. Quick Start guide to installing the DXLab Suite of programs (thanks to Dave, AA6YQ!) Its easy to create an article, when you are in the wiki, just change the URL you are viewing. For example, if you are at http://www.flexradiowiki.com/index.php?SoftwarePackagesToInstall, just alter the URL to name a new page (smash all the words together of the new page in the URL with each word Capitalized), so if I wanted to create a new page called "Firebricks Computer Setup" I would alter the URL to http://www.flexradiowiki.com/index.php?FirebricksComputerSetup . The wiki will create a new page with that title and you may begin writing your article. Each page has a link to edit text, show formatting rules, etc. This wiki is simple and it keeps things simple for creating articles. The purpose is not to have the prettiest pate, the purpose is to have as much information as possible as quickly as possible. Since this is user-maintained, if you see something absolutely wrong or out of date, fix it! I will monitor it to make sure nothing dangerous, offensive or flat out wrong is placed on the wiki but otherwise, HAVE AT IT!!! 73 Neal and Brian -- Message: 2 Date: Tue, 05 Oct 2010 18:16:28 +0200 From: Paul Van Dyck To: flexradio@flex-radio.biz Subject: [Flexradio] Question: fan noise in Flex-3000 Message-ID: <4cab4f5c.7050...@mail.com> Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1; format=flowed I have set the temp at 70C and the fans keep going at a slow (yet noisy) speed during RX. Yes, I have done that. I have a Bluetooth wireless serial dongle that I use for various things. Right now it connects my computer to the Trimble Thunderbolt GPSDO I use as a reference oscillator. (I am not at home right now and don't recall the manufacturer. If you are interested, send me a tickler message so I will think to look it up when I get home.) If thinking of using Bluetooth be sure to consider that this is a short-range device. The unit I am using has a free-air range of about 15m. If there are any walls in the way that range is reduced. I would not bet on this working between shack and antenna tuner that is outside. -- Brian Lloyd, WB6RQN/J79BPL 3191 Western Dr. Cameron Park, CA 95682 br...@lloyd.com +1.767.617.1365 (Dominica) +1.931.492.6776 (USA) (+1.931.4.WB6RQN) ___ FlexRadio Systems Mailing List FlexRadio@flex-radio.biz http://mail.flex-radio.biz/mailman/listinfo/flexradio_flex-radio.biz Archives: http://www.mail-archive.com/flexradio%40flex-radio.biz/ Knowledge Base: http://kc.flexradio.com/ Homepage: http://www.flexradio.com/
[Flexradio] Flex - Thanks
I just wanted to post this to the SDR reflectors as is is good to share positive news; it sometimes gets overlooked. I have at times needed questions answered regarding hardware and software issues. Every time either Eric, Gerald, or Dudley (all of the Flex group for that matter) responded respectfully and timely. Flex has gone beyond the term of good service to extremely great service even at their expense as my hardware is of the sdr 1000 along with HPSDR hardware. I have been involved in technical services regarding equipment and manufacturing for over 30 years; I have never heard of or had a company CEO take the time to respond to a customer's request as they were so busy with keeping the company up and running that there just wasn't time enough for this and this is understood. I just wanted to thank Gerald and the Flex team. If you have Flex hardware and software consider it the best and hang on because it will get better because they do stand by their products and prove it over and over. I wish Gerald and Flex Radio all of the best. Rob, The Forums and the Reflectors are not moderated by default. When abuse on either are found, it is dealt with appropriately. I do not read every forum post, because I just don't have the bandwidth to do so. So thanks for bringing this situation to my attention. -Tim --- W4TME FlexRadio Systems Internet Systems Admin. I've had experience doing this. In fact I sell a couple of adapter boards that work with the Digi XBee Pro radios to make a virtual serial cable. See www.vsc-x.com. Re: [Flexradio] Attention: Again malware-Side DO NOT CLICK THE LINK was: (no subject)
Having checked the headers on the emails, I see they all come from different bots and ip's. This means that Mr Lecrones PC was/is infected with malware that has copied his address book. His email address is being used to send spam to each and every person in that address book - not from his PC, but from the bots elsewhere on the net.
