Re: [Flexradio] [FlexEdge] [FlexRadio] PowerSDR v2.0.20 RC2 Release Candidate 2 now available for download
I have loaded PowerSDR v2.0.20 RC2 and my CWX is working at 30 wpm. However, I noticed the following odd behavior: the CWX drop delay value is not functional but is controlled by the Break in delay value that is assigned using the Front Console CW-keyer controls. This really is not a problem except one must be aware of the CWX drop delay really does not control the keying-to-receive transition time. This is not a problem that is unique to PowerSDR v2.0.20 RC2, it also occurred in PowerSDR v2.0.19 RC1. This may be the intended function but it is not described that way in the Flex manual. The default values on the CWX form are not working well. We'll get this fixed in the next revision, but if others are having the same trouble, I would suggest moving the Drop Delay to 300 (default is currently 100). This worked well on my development setup. Re: [Flexradio] Remote Control of Flex
Yes, you can get audio sent in both directions, but you need to do some things to make that happen. Some use Skype for the audio. You will need to buy the VAC (Virtual audio cable) program (worth the low price). Thats the short answer, the details are available somewhere I'm sure! 73 - Mike WA8BXN ---Original Message--- From: Ted Trostle Date: 03/11/11 12:04:17 To: FlexRadio Reflector Subject: [Flexradio] Remote Control of Flex In another post I missed if using remote control, is the Flex sound Available at the remote location? ___ FlexRadio Systems Mailing List FlexRadio@flex-radio.biz http://mail.flex-radio.biz/mailman/listinfo/flexradio_flex-radio.biz Archives: http://www.mail-archive.com/flexradio%40flex-radio.biz/ Knowledge Base: http://kc.flexradio.com/ Homepage: http://www.flexradio.com/

Yes, it you use something like IP Sound or Skype via VAC channels for audio input and output. This is covered in the Knowledge Base (KB). [Flexradio] Remote operation and New software release
Guys, the new software loaded and works fine. The ALC works now, finally and the output power is under control for the very first time on my 5000. The only issue I found in the new SDR RC2 software was that VOX on VAC does not work. Did I miss a new check box?? It seems that VOX was working on VAC then not working, on different software SDR versions. VOX is really required for remote operation so you don't have to use the MOX button. Also, the latency of Skype or any VoIP connection is such that you can cut off your words with a manual operation, whereby VOX stops transmitting on the SDR computer when incoming audio stops. With respect to remoting your SDR, I have been doing this for years on numerous conventional and SDR rigs using various remote desktops, including GOTOMY PC, Pocket Cloud, Microsoft remote desktop, and Teamviewer. Teamviewer by far is the best as when you use it computer to computer, there is a BUILT IN VoIP tunnel that allows you to connect to the SDR PC for your visual and audio without using Skype, etc. Teamviewer also has an IPad app that works great. The IPad app DOES NOT have the VoIP tunnel working on it (yet??), so you must use Skype to connect to the home PC. Teamviewer is a free app and does not require any static IP address entrees and works from anywhere!!! [Flexradio] Problems Getting Skype to Work
I am attempting to setup my Flex-3000 for remote operation using Teamviewer and Skype. I have Teamviewer working OK except that it seems to have quite a bit of latency at times when using Wifi. If anyone has suggestions for decreasing this latency when using Teamviewer, I would appreciate the help. My real problem is Skype. I can't seem to get any audio out of my main SDR computer and into my remote laptop via Skype. I haven't worried about getting transmit audio into the SDR computer just yet. In PowerSDR 2.0.20 on my main SDR computer, I have virtual cable 1 selected as input and virtual cable 2 as output. Fldigi works fine with these settings. In Skype that is installed on my main SDR computer, I have the microphone setup using virtual cable 1 and the speakers setup using virtual cable 2. In Skype that is installed on my remote laptop, I have the microphone using the laptop's Cirrus Logic microphone and the speakers using the Cirrus Logic speakers. The Skype on my laptop dials up Skype on my main SDR computer just fine but I hear no audio coming out of my laptop speakers when I have PowerSDR up and running through Teamviewer. Obviously I am doing something wrong. My main SDR computer is running PowerSDR 2.0.20 on a new windows 7 unit built by Neal. My laptop is a Macbook running windows 7. I do operate my Flex-1500 on this laptop but I changed my sound settings on the laptop from the two VAC cables to the standard microphone and speaker devices in the laptop while trying to use Skype. Any suggestions would be appreciated to get me going with Skype for my remote operations. The section in Flex's Knowledge base was not too helpful since it illustrated an old version of Skype. Re: [Flexradio] Problems Getting Skype to Work
I think you need to switch the vac channels at one end or the other. The output of powersdr should go to the VAC channel that is the input of skype on your remote computer. What is the nature of the latency you are asking about? 73 - Mike WA8BXN ___ FlexRadio Systems Mailing List FlexRadio@flex-radio.biz http://mail.flex-radio.biz/mailman/listinfo/flexradio_flex-radio.biz Archives: http://www.mail-archive.com/flexradio%40flex-radio.biz/ Knowledge Base: http://kc.flexradio.com/ Homepage: http://www.flexradio.com/
