[Flexradio] Flex 1500 with version 2.0.22 TX/RX audio issue

2011-03-31 Thread Dennis Deaton
Flex 1500 with i5 Intel 64 bit win7 6gb ram.
Everything went well on the upgrade from 2.0.20 to 2.022 till the audio on TX
and RX went to crap after about 2 minutes. A reboot of radio and software and
or computer would not solve it. It would start ok then flake out. I changed the
audio buffer to 2048 from 1024 and the problem seems to be rectified at this
point. I talked on phone for about 45 minutes with no problems in operation.
After resetting it to 1024 and restarting the system it took a few minutes then
audio flaked out again. So, back to 2048. Anyone with any ideas???
I used 1024 for audio buffer size on all other versions of the software with
great results till now. Otherwise everything else is great and functionally
this is the best so far!!
If it ain’t broke, we aren’t having any fun yet!!!

[Flexradio] Antenna switch

2011-03-31 Thread Richard Allen
I use a coaxial relay with the de-energized side going to a dummy load and the
other to multiband hf antenna. The relay is powered by a wall wart that is
plugged into one of the sockets on my Ethernet power controller.

I live near Houston and my remote station is 50 miles west of Fort Worth. I
check for thunderstorm activity on the Internet before activating the remote
antenna. Works great.

[Flexradio] Hello and Quick Question

2011-03-31 Thread Gedas
Wanted to say hello to the group and ask a simple question. I will soon (am
hoping) to be a proud owner of a F5K with VHF module. While waiting I want
to make sure my pc is setup correctly. I remember reading someplace which
1394 chipsets are known to work well with these SDR but for some reason I
cannot seem to find that info. I have looked in the knowledge base section
under 1394 but I must be missing it. My current PC uses a TI chipset that
claims OHCI compliancy. I am hoping this is a good thing. TIA.

2011-03-31 Thread Mack McCormick
Ray,

I did some quick testing of your latest voice keyer tonight and it worked
great with my Flex 5000A running on Win 7 x64. Thank you and job well done!

Will you please elaborate on how to use a hardware trigger? My specific
question is if there is a way to trigger your keyer WITHOUT the program
having focus? The specific application I'd like to be able to trigger from
is N1MM.

2011-03-31 Thread Don

Ray

I have never used your voice key before so I'm not sure if it is me or what.
Anyway I am using Win 7 -64.
Hardware setup is (voice keyer):
Sound Card Used : VAC line 1 - Input to PowerSDR as set on VAC setup screen
in PowerSDR.

Sound Card - messages : Primary Sound Driver
Volume : Slider on High but window reads 0 ?
PTT: Com7 DTR, RTS checked
Repeat message : not checked
Keyboard : Enabled
Hardware/Serial Trigger : None

Simple message was saved using the "recorder" and plays back on my system
ok.

When I key the message I get a "Unhandled exception" message.
The F-3000 does key but no audio etc...

[Flexradio] PSDR 2.0.22 s-m-o-o-t-h

2011-03-31 Thread Lowell White
Thanks to the crew at Flex-Radio for a smooth upgrade!

I've installed PSDR 2.0.22 on both a Win7 box and an XP Pro box and have run a
1500 on each.

On the XP Pro box the 1500 is joined with a 2M-10M transverter (on the XVTR
common port) as well as an HF antenna on the main antenna port. Auto-switching
of ports is working happily with band changes.

Nice.

Thanks for the fabulous upgrade. I'd previously run 3 of the RC's prior to
2.20 going golden.

Hi Folks,

This is a fun little computer case upgrade I did for my SDRPC / Shack computer.
It gives you the following:

  1. A cool rig looking case for your shack.
  2. A touchscreen interface for your software.
  3. A built in tuning Knob that works with PowerSDR
  4. An IR remote to control PowerSDR or other software.

The project is at www.hamradioscience.com

Anyone else running multiple xverters having a loss of signals on
HF after going to an assigned band button?

After uninstalling my firewire driver and reinstalling .22 from
scratch and getting it running, I started putting in all my usual
settings, including for my 2 meter transverter. Got it all set up,
tuned around, and then went to go back to 75 meters to listen to a
conversation I had been enjoying and nada. It was as if the
antenna were disconnected.

I tried changing the antenna settings in the antenna menu, tried
expert vs simple mode, tried stopping and starting PowerSDR. Nothing
helped. Shutting down the program, powering down the radio and
bringing it back up and then starting PowerSDR again restored it.

I have not experienced this on the earlier versions.

Running XP, SP3 also.

[Flexradio] Firewire Driver NOT legacy after SP1 installed

2011-03-31 Thread Bob McGwier
About the time one of the recent updates from Flex came out, I starting
having Blue Screens of Death on Windows 7 Professional x64 SP1.

So I was blaming it. HOWEVER, contemporaneous with the Flex Beta code
install, Windows came out with SP1. It updated lots of things, including
going BACK to the "newer superior" driver. SIGH, Microsoft.

I sent a dump to a couple of people and they pointed me here.

http://www.osronline.com/page.cfm?name=analyze

It analyzed the dump and
immediately told me that it was the new 1394 driver and NOT the legacy
driver.

I went here:

http://kc.flexradio.com/KnowledgebaseArticle50433.aspx?Keywords=legacy+driver

Followed the instructions and now all is well.
