[Flexradio] Dual VGA card

2011-04-25 Thread Harryhahn
Does anyone have a suggestion for a dual VGA video card for their Flex PC?
I just built a new Windows 7 64 bit Porfessional machine and think I will
go with two Monitors!!

I use the nvidia geforce 9500GT at

http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=4111742CatId=3669

It has dual DVI outputs but comes with VGA adapters, which I use. It
also allows you to rotate the video, so you can use your monitors
vertically. I have two vertical side-by-side monitors here which
works very well.

Depends. If your CPU is AMD I recommend ATI. For Intel, NVIDIA

Re: [Flexradio] Flex Operating Manuals

2011-04-25 Thread Ted Trostle
Just received the Flex 3000 manual V2.0

Superb quality !! I am not sure there is any other manual product that is
better than this one. For me it was worth the cost.

Thanks

Re: [Flexradio] Dual VGA card

2011-04-25 Thread Neal Campbell
Hi Harry

Congrats on your new system!

I would recommend ATI/AMD graphics boards hands down. I just have very mixed
experience with latency using nVidia boards (on some systems I actually
configure them as Standard VGA which bypasses their driver completely and
often see a big drop in DPCs). I have never seen any performance hit with
ATI/AMD, although they all have their share of oddities. I have one customer
whose cursor turns to a comb-looking thing and then becomes unresponsive and
its a symptom only seen with AMD stuff.

Anyway, look at a HD5570 card, its a bargain and a lot of companies make
them. Its all the graphics card you will need for your new machine!

[Flexradio] Panadapter cross hairs

2011-04-25 Thread Drax Felton
My panadapter is in a mode I'm not sure how to cancel.

The ability to adjust filter width has been replaced with a set of yellow
cross hairs.

How do I turn those off?

Re: [Flexradio] Panadapter cross hairs

2011-04-25 Thread K9DUR
Drax,

Right-click anywhere on the Panadapter. Right-click again to turn them back
on. If you have MultiRX on or have RX2 turned on (FLEX-5000), the
right-clicking cycles through yellow crosshairs (VFO A), red crosshairs (VFO
B), off.

The yellow crosshairs indicate that you have turned on the point-and-click
feature. Put the crosshairs on a signal left-click VFO A is tuned to
that frequency. Works easiest with CW where you simply center the
crosshairs on the signal click. On SSB, you have to estimate where the
carrier would be click there.
