[Flexradio] Anyone near Lawrenceburg, KY?

2012-02-03 Thread Neal Campbell
Hi all

We have a fellow Flexer, Steve Parker (who is a real nice guy!), who could
use some startup help in getting his Flex-3000 shack all going. Is there
anyone near him who could drop buy for an afternoon and help him?

Re: [Flexradio] 1500 bandscope flatline and no audio

2012-02-03 Thread Robert Logan
This has happened to me twice. All I did was turn off the computer completely
and the 1500, wait a minute or so, and then reboot and turn the 1500 on again.
Each time, things returned to normal. Bob, NZ5A

Any ideas how to resolve this? I've run repair.bat from the 32bit driver

[Flexradio] Changes to 60-meter Band Begin March 5

2012-02-03 Thread Jeff Singer
The amended 60-meter regs go into effect on March 5. We're going to need
PSDR changes by then to permit CW, the allowed digital modes and the change
to Channel 3.

Re: [Flexradio] 1500 bandscope flatline and no audio

2012-02-03 Thread a.groff

Eric,
It MAY be because VAC is misconfigured... Before you press the
start button, turn VAC off then start.
If that works then go to the VAC tab and select Valid Virtual cables for
the driver you have selected..
( System type ports may not work with the WDM-KS driver ) and then
re-enable VAC.

[Flexradio] New Rules for 5 MHz (60 Meters) To Go Into Effect March 5

2012-02-03 Thread Lloyd Berg N9LB

( From ARRL Bulletin )

New Rules for 5 MHz (60 Meters) To Go Into Effect March 5

On November 18, the FCC released a Report and Order (RO), defining
new rules for the 60 meter (5 MHz) band. These rules are in response
to a Petition for Rulemaking (PRM) filed by the ARRL more than five
years ago and a June 2010 Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (NPRM). In
the February 3 edition of the Federal Register, the FCC announced
that these new rules will go into effect on March 5, 2012.

Details can be found at,

[Flexradio] Power SDR 2.2.3 no longer works

2012-02-03 Thread Stan Grigaliunas
I have been running F3k, W7 64bit with 6g of mem for the past 14 months without
any problems. Two days ago, when I went to bring Power SDR up I got the
following:

As soon as I click on the short cut icon, a window pops up with a FATAL ERROR.
Inside the window there is a title: Root Element is missing.

Under the title there are 11 lines listing the errors. The first 7 lines start
with... at System.Xml.XmlTextReaderImpl.Throw(Exception e) .

The last 3 lines start with:.. at PowerSDR.Master.Init() ... and so on...

After I click ... Ok.the window closes and another one opens saying Power
SRD stop working Windows is checking for Solution then window closes
and that is the end.

I removed and reinstalled Power SDR 2.2.3 three times... no joy
I changed out the Fire wire card. no joy

I hooked the F3k to my Gateway W7 32bit 2g laptop running 2.2.3. It worked
GOOD! ... CPU usage in RX mode between 35-55%

Now I am lost, what to do next, what to check and fix next. Anyone have any
suggestions ???

Stan,
I have never experienced this particular crash, but the .xml in the
error message makes it sound as if your master database file is
corrupted and PSDR has no mechanism for handling this problem.

Try this: go to UsersStanAppDataRoamingFlexRadio Systems and see
if you can find a file with a name like database_F3Ksomething.xml. If
so, delete it and see if that fixes your problem. If it does, you'll
have to redo your setup. After you get PSDR set up and going, export
your database to a location where you can find it again; then if you
have to delete it in the future, you can restore your settings.

I don't know for sure that this will fix it, but it's worth a try.
