That did the trick, thank you.

use a Virtual Serial port for DTR PTT keying.

Looks like you need to make your input 4 and output 12 on JT65.

How do I convince Flex and WSJT to play together nicely?

Below is the screen from WSJT showing my ports.
On the FLEX Setup Audio/VAC 1 I have VAC 1 Enabled with
Driver: Windown WDM-KS
Input: Virtual Cable 1
Output: Virtual Cable 2

In WSJT Setup/Options I have:
Audio In: 3
Audio Out: 16

I've tried combinations and permutations of 3/4 3/16 12/4 12/16 4/3
4/12 etc.
None have cooperated.

I keep hoping Flex will hire some software guy that can get the audio to
interface with
digital software without having to add 3 or 4 extra programs in between.

Re: [Flexradio] Sidebands reversed

2012-12-12 Thread Douglas Hubbs

Steve,
I have a Flex3000 on a Win XPPro sp3 system, now using PowerSDRv2.5.3 and tried
to duplicate what you described below and could not. I even tried to TX at
3.999.999 and no out of band condition was allowed in USB. LSB and tune worked
as one would expect.
Tried the same test on 40 and 20 found that in USB mode using Tune function
would generate a out of band signal, however when trying to transmit in USB
mode, the error message for out of band was displayed. This is different that
what occurs on the 80 upper band edge test.

I'll second that enhancement request.

I am using an Amiga USB soundcard that I can plug my Heil proset directly
into, but It would be nice if the PowerSDR input audio chain to provide Mic

I was on a 4 way DV QSO earlier this week and all 4 of us were using

Some while back I did make a feature request however I want to put this up
for discussion. DV has moved on with the beta release of Codec2 & modem
FreeDV. It would be very useful if it were possible to bring out the
pre-processed audio (including EQ/compression and downward expander) to a
VAC so that it can then be input into FreeDV as the mic source. It seems so
silly to have a Heil PR40 here but have to resort to using a cheap PC boom
mic to supply the audio to the modem.

I realise that DV is still in its infancy and only a tiny minority will be
interested but I imagine that any advantage over competitors is worthy of
some consideration? Flex is nothing if not forward thinking, so feasibility
notwithstanding, it would be a tremendous boon to we digital Flex freaks to
have this. Also, there is the kudos of Flex being prepared to support the
development of a new 'mode' ( I know it's not new really, but the codec is
and it needs testers).

Flexers traditionally like to be at the forefront of new developments so I
kindly ask that irrespective of whether the above idea is taken up, for more
Flexers to come and help test out, bug report and generally support this
stab at DV.

At little over 1kHz wide for a reasonable quality (bear in mind it is only
1kHz!) the codec shows great promise and it is open source, none of this
proprietary codec nonsense!

The HC-6 has a different frequency response profile than the FHM-1 (it

Subject: [Flexradio] PowerSDR v2.5.3 is now available for download

To all Flexers,

FlexRadio Systems is pleased to announce the general
availability of the
newest release of PowerSDR, version 2.5.3 intended for use
with the
SDR-1000, FLEX-1500, FLEX-3000 and FLEX-5000 software defined
radios.
PowerSDR v2.5.3 has several new features, existing feature
enhancements
and bug fixes.

We recommend that all customers upgrade to v2.5.3 (see the links
below). PowerSDR v2.5.3 contains several new enhancements and bug
fixes. As with any new release of PowerSDR v2.x it is highly
recommended
that you review the PowerSDR v2.5.3 Release Notes before
installing. If
you are upgrading from PowerSDR v2.3.5 and have not installed
PowerSDR
v2.4.4 which contained a new Firewire driver, the Release
Notes will
provide important information regarding the upgrade as there
is a new
Firewire driver and firmware that is not backwards compatible with
previous versions of PowerSDR 2.x.

While all the improvements and bug fixes are too numerous to
detail, the
following is a list of major changes since the previous official
release, PowerSDR v2.4.4. A full listing is included in the
Release Notes.

1.New FlexControl Basic and Advanced Operation Modes
2.Waterfall Low/High Levels now Stored by Band
3.New Keyboard Commands for Controlling the Drive setting
4.New Option to Disable Split on Mode Change
5.Default AGC-T Settings Refactored by Band for Better
Signal to
Noise Performance
6.New FHM-1 (Flex Hand Microphone) TX Profiles
7.Changes for Windows 8 Compatibility
8.NR, ANF and Noise Blankers Automatically Disabled When
Operating
Digital Modes

This would happen if the I and Q channels got swapped. Have you tried fully
removing the power from the 5000 for about a minute to ensure that the
5000's internal processor and all the chips are reset?

[Flexradio] FHM-1 profile works ok with an Heil HC 6 element?

2012-12-12 Thread vtnn43e
I was looking at the description of the FHM-1 microphone and it sounds a lot
like the Heil HC 6 element.
Would using the FHM-1 profiles with a Heil HC 6 give the same results as with
the FHM-1 microphone?

Re: [Flexradio] Update previous versions before PowerSDR v2.5.3 ??

2012-12-12 Thread Tim Ellison
No, you do not. Every version of PowerSDR is 100% independent of the
previous versions and the latest version is all inclusive.

Guys -

If I'm running 2.2.3 do I need to update all previous 2.3.5, 2.4.4 versions up
to the current 2.3.5 or can I just upgrade to the current version 2.3.5 ??
