Re: [Flexradio] Dual RX with VU5K

2013-01-01 Thread Jerry Coufal
Tim,

If the RX1 tap is not in the RF signal path why do I hear the public safety
channels on RX2 when RX2 is set to 10 meters and RX1 is set to 2 meters and
the Receiver 2 antenna selection is set to RX1 Tap?

This is associated with the problem reported on 9/6/2011 & 12-16-11 on
Ticket #509 / DE662.

Thanks - Jerry

Been trying to find a beginner's guide or resources for digital modes.
I am a relatively new ham with a brand new Flex5000. I am looking to
get into the digital modes but have no idea where to start with the
Flex. I need to know the absolute basics-please no flaming, I am just
trying to learn.

[Flexradio] VoiceKeyer v5.1.0 Released

2013-01-01 Thread Ray, K9DUR
VoiceKeyer v5.1.0 has been released & is available for download from my
website.

This release includes the following 2 items:

1. Adds a minimize button to the toolbar.
2. Fixes a bug which prevented "None" being selected as a valid setting for
the serial port used for PTT control.

This error message in VSPM can occur when there are no ports existing on the
PC. Ignore the message and create a pair of ports and the message should go
away.

Re: [Flexradio] Windows 8 and Flex

2013-01-01 Thread Nige G7CNF
It sounds as if you might be using a relatively slow CPU with processor
usage that high. That aside, as a short-term fix you could try com0com
or alternatively Eterlogic's VSPE. Com0com's 32 bit version as with the
Eterlogic solution are freeware, however 64-bit VSPE does require the
purchase of a key. There is a signed a version of com0com for 64-bit but
it is not available from their website as it has been independently
signed; a Google search should track it down easily enough.

Best wishes,

Nige.

Re: [Flexradio] PSDR Hanging Up WIth JT65-HF

2013-01-01 Thread TM
Tim:

Thanks. The HW is an i7-2600 with 16GB RAM and a SSD running Win 7 64 Pro.

I think you were correct on the DPC issue. I ran LatencyMon for awhile and
found that every now and then I got a very large time for a hard page fault.
Guess that might be it. I turned off the two external, network backup
drives. I have not had a lock up now in several hours. May or not be cause
and effect. Time will tell.

Will let the group know if any occur in future.

The from the behavior described, it is most likely long duration DPCsor a
struggling Firewire card, but without providing the radio hardware info, it
is hard to say. It could be a PC resource bound issue too as I don't know
what type of additional loag JT65-HF is putting on the PC that PSK31 is not.

[Flexradio] RE- YET another VoIP Remote Audio program with a plus

2013-01-01 Thread William Bathgate
I use REMAUD for my VOIP connection and it is much better than Skype in my
estimation. At least within the Continental USA, I have never tested this
across multi-country borders however.

Unique to this system is the only latency you get is the bandwidth of the
Internet providers between you and your home station. There is no third party
server farm and Internet traffic control system (aka SKYPE) interfering with
your audio stream.

[Flexradio] YET another VoIP Remote Audio program with a plus

2013-01-01 Thread Bret Mills
A few months ago I found this great little program called DF3CB's "RemAud"
it is a very low bandwidth about 1.8K VoIP Audio specifically created for
SSB Audio between two Windows Computers.

What sets this program aside is that it also has a PTT control which makes
it so you don't have to keep teamviewer or what ever your using connected to
view the screen on PowerSDR to hit the MOX button to go into transmit and
receive if you have everything already set up for a QSO thus cutting down on
you Bandwidth even more.

The Server piece of the software would go on the PowerSDR Computer running
VAC just like Skype or what ever your use to using.
The Server can handle multiple connects so you can share your connection
with some one else who wants to us the Radio Remotely the same way.

The Client piece of software goes on the remote end of course where you can
have your USB Headset or what ever audio device you use.

THIS is NOT a control program just VoIP Audio and PTT control.

You can read more at DB3CD's RemAud WEB site
http://df3cb.com/remaud/index.php

73's and hope this works for you as well as it does for me.

Happy New Years, 2013 and we're still hear.

Happy New Year to you Ian and all readers of the reflector!

We are aware of the changes made to the UK 60m-Band and we are

The change will be distributed with next release of PowerSDR v2.6.x

[Flexradio] *** UK 60m Band Utilization Page updated -- 1 January 2013

2013-01-01 Thread Ian Wade G3NRW

A happy new year to everyone!

I have updated the "UK 60m Band Utilization Page" to reflect the brave
new world of 60m in the UK:

  http://homepage.ntlworld.com/wadei/UK_60m_band_utilization.htm

This page contains a link to the new UK 60m Notice of Variation,
announced by OFCOM, together with a chart depicting the new band
segments in graphical form.

The page also contains the "UK 60m Band Whiteboard", which serves as a
platform for ideas put forward by many people on how to utilize the
band. The Whiteboard is not a bandplan, nor is it "official" in any way.
It is simply a starting point for ideas on band usage, and will almost
certainly change as things settle down.

Any suggestions for the Whiteboard should be posted in the "UK 5 Megs"
Yahoo Group ( http://groups.yahoo.com/group/ukfivemegs/ ). All future
updates to the Whiteboard will appear on the "UK 60m Band Utilization
Page".

The page also contains a link to the NoV application form, and a link to
the updated worldwide 60m chart from Paul Gaskell, G4WMO.
